Why not pursue full benefits after 25 years of service, no matter what your age?

Outgoing R+I chairman said we will not even pursue this. Reason: " compared to an engineer(tech) at a fortune 500 company, we have a great deal at only a 3% penalty".
Sounded like an FPA answer to me. While true, I'm not an engineer at some other company and our jobs are apples and oranges.

I think Huck is refering to our MECs position to support the ALPA position of changing the "regulated" age to 65 --- back in 2007, when the change was clearly inevitable () --- he is not implying there is any new resolution being proposed secretly.

(Huck - care to clarify..??)

But, let's not forget that "regulated age" IS NOT synonomous with "retirement age" --- those are separate and different terms.

The "regulated age" changed in Dec 2007 and our "retirement age" did not.

Many FEDEX pilots have retired before Age 65, without penalty, since the federal law was changed in Dec 2007.

This won't/can't change unless we agree to change it, which the Union already knows, and has communicated by NC messages --- any change in the retirement age is waaaaaaay off the table.

Yes, I meant the unanimous resolution in 2007, which is why I said "regulated age."

I do not have a copy of that resolution. I've tried (a little bit) to get one. It's not exactly advertised.

Thanks for getting all scatological on me. Par for the course here.

Tell it to the mediator. I'm sure they'll pick up on the stark distinction.....

"But he IS A MANAGER, not a pilot. It's not up to us to make sure he gets IOE in the MD11. The company knew the rules when they hired him.
I say, take an empty MD11 or a humanitarian charter under part 91 and give him some landings. Beyond that I say NO to non-seniority pilots flying revenue flying. It's a pandoras box that we can't afford to open. The company lost my trust with 4a2b."

YES, YES, YES AGAIN!

So does the proposed DH duty constraints to be able to book a JS to come to base for a trip prevent you from, say, JSing in on the morning flight and flying your afternoon trip??

This one is bad also.

12.D.7.e.
· Correct reference (12.C.6.b. should be 12.D.7.b.).
General
· Explore creating cruise pilot category.

I think it depends on the pay for the cruise pilot. We've got FOs that are essentially cruise pilots (professional RFOs). I'd rather cruise pilot than fly hub turns on the 727....

Depends on if IATA and ICAO get their wish and create a cruise pilot that is basically a 2nd officer and can be over 65 yrs old or a less rated pilot. The only reason for the company to want a cruise pilot category is to not pay f/o's to crew the plane.
