FDX TA Approved

Let's see;
I've got a buddy at UPS just off probation as an Airbus F/O and he's getting $40K for his bonus - a 25 year FedEx widebody Captain will receive $30K..............
What happened to Retro Pay?

Well tried to wade through section 12, hours of serviceand 25 scheduling, and pretty much have thrown up my hands trying in understand the "improvements"
I saw a reduction for some seldom reached double crew (non A380) duty limit from 20:00 to 19:30. Will need to consult smarter people (or just ones with more patience) to understand blended duty limits.
If this is the great improvement to fatigue and duty times, I'll wait for the condensed version to pass judgement.

Just got this from Council 22:
Dear Council 22 Member:
As the Negotiating Committee briefed the MEC this week on the Tentative Agreement (TA), one impression stood out: It is a deal of which you will be very proud. By ALPA costing models it represents more than $800 million in enhancements over four years compared to our current contract. ALPA members, you did well.
Here are some of the new components of the cornerstone issues as a primer to your reading.
Section 1 - Scope
* Restrictions imposed on FDX Corp. and any successor
* “Alter Ego” airline protection
Section 4 – Minimum Guarantees and Other Pay Provisions
· Trip Rig of 1:3.75 and pay for block over 8 hours at date of signing plus one year
Section 12 - Hours of Service
* Enhanced fatigue protection
Section 25 - Scheduling
* Blended Duty Time concept
* Addressing of circadian rhythms in international scheduling
* Improved scheduling transparency
* Pay enhancements for operational disruptions
Section 27 – Insurance Benefits
* Improved health care design and coverage for active and retired pilots
* Pilot contributions contractually secured
Section 28 – Retirement (Pension Benefits)
* Increased B Plan contribution to 7% at date of signing plus one year
* Enhanced A Plan multiplier
* Increased fund choices
Four documents play a critical role in every flight we operate as FedEx pilots: the Company Flight Manual, the Flight Operations Manual, the FARs, and (you guessed it) our contract. We encourage you to take the time to perform your own personal “due diligence” on the TA by reading the entire document, attending a road show presentation, and engaging your elected representatives with questions. And while you will receive communications (such as this one) regarding the TA during the ratification process, please do not depend solely on these for an in-depth look at this deal. Give yourself the opportunity to see the TA as the “big picture” agreement that it is. It truly does speak for itself.

The bottom line after a quick scan of Section 12 & 25.
The company will extract any pay raises incurred with our productivity.
Minuses -"s in Section 12 and 25
High-Line Low line spread increased from 8:30 to 13:00 hrs when the 1 for 3:75 rig kicks in. What will that does to the monthly bid packs? No language to define a high line.......Potential for Senior lines to get trashed.
I didn't see any Min Pay per day language.
The MPDP's for Hub turning don't increase when the 1 for 3:75 kicks in.
Meaning when the Trip rig goes to 3:75 a domestic hub turn will still pay 6 hours...........YGTBSM
No fixes for cicadian cycle disruptions........I am still trying to figure out the GRID system. I can't believe our guys came up with this??
On first glance all it takes is an 18 hour layover to reset the circadian cycle. (i.e. swapping from day to night or night to day. )YGTBSM!!
The 36 hour reset has been now further been reduced to 32hrs.....which equates to less than 27 hours actual rest. and we only need to get one of these in a big trip.
SIBA trips are now scheduled to domestic parameters.......watch how short the layovers become,......can go down to 8 hours.
Plus +'s Intl Overide got a nice bump......Per diem didn't.
2 hour INTL DH check in.
1% B plan Bump but not for DOS plus 1 year........???
Guys over 50 with 10 years of service get an A plan bump .o1%.
Scope language seems alittle better FDX corp language.
Agency Shop .......but it does not include the current 150 non members.
I gotta keep reading but I can't believe we get a signing bonus in 2 checks......the 2nd one DOS plus a year?
Looks like FDX is looking to beat UPS's ratification of 56%........and I mean beat it by coming in lower.
