COULD of and SHOULD of been better. My initial reading has me saying NO. I need to hear and see some details on the road show circuit.

Don't forget 3 years after the contract to negotiate another contract. That makes this a 7 year deal!

What's funny is this is exactly what management wants. What happened to all the talk about "my negotiating comittee speaks for me?" Obviously that was a bunch of crap. What happened to support of our MEC?
If I was a member of the management team I would be jumping for joy since apparently this TA can splinter the ALPA membership. It will show that we're not unified and never will be. It doesn't matter how many hats, stickers, lanyards, pins, etc were worn, it's still about the individual.

We voted for the MEC they put a NC together and we should support that. Or maybe we should start another union inside FEDEX-ALPA to really divide the group. It could be called FPA-ALPA.

Flame on

Thumbs down can't support this ta

...at first glance....no trip rig wahs out protection...we gave this up with our first contract ....negotiated for the union by the current vp of flt ops....it causes all of us to work more than 2 and a half days more each month for no more pay...all of our legs more than six hours are washed out by trip rig...we were suppose to get this back..ie..work done equals work paid for...but we punted on this crucial work rule...it is also why we fly on three duty days and get paid for less than two...unless someone sees this somewhere in the ta that i haven't found...i think this will have a hard time passing....i just flew a twelve day around the world trip that should have paid 85 hours....not 72....i'm very very dissapointed...can't support this..no mstter what the mec says....sorry..just can't in good concious

I don't know about the Thanking UPS MGT part but........the latter part of the statment is true. A thanks should also extend to the Negotiating committe members and other pilots who put in a lot of time and effort. Before folks start bashing the MEC and Negotitating committee for this deal.......................

Remember this........It is the Negotiating Committee's job to get the best Deal possible "Under the current circumstances" Simply translated this means...........

1. Is the membership 100% behind the effort?.i.e. are they picking up Open time, DFT, VLT and vacation Sell back. Is there any Peer pressure out there?

2. What is the market rate of Pilots' pay and benefits? Do we have a higher target to meet or are we already there?...........unfortunately we were already at the top by default.

3. Is the current Polictical Administration more Labor friendly? (or Corporate friendly) I think we all know that answer.

4. Can the company afford it? In this case absolutley. But that doesn't matter if the answer to 1-3 is NO.

I am not sure which way I am going to VOTE as of yet. I need to read and re-read this TA 3 or 4 more times and go to a road show or two.

All of us need to ask ourselves this.....................

If this TA is NOT ratified this peak will pass without a deal. (my opinion), It is very likely that the NMB will not release us prior to peak, but then again that is just my opinion. ASK yourselves what more will I do to achieve a better deal if this is not ratified?

Will this group go to the MAT for a mere 3-5% bump in pay.......In other words what is the minimum DELTA in pay/work rules that would make you strike or not strike.............assuming this republican administration allows it.

The Company pretty much knows the answer to this and they are merely looking to get by as cheap as possible.

I am not telling folks which way to vote. I am not sure which way I will vote yet.
But everyone must face the true reality of the situtation.

Why thank UPS management? Thank the weak dicks at UPS that voted our package in. It wasn't that too many of the yes voters liked the deal, they just didn't think it was worth a fight to get more. Your deal will pass so get used to it. Like you said, it is only 4 years and next time you guys get to go first.

Isn't wash out recovered on legs over 8 hours? I'm trying to understand OSC right now.

That's a scary thought. The FedEx pilots have to go first. I think we've come a long way since the embarrassing days of 95'. But, I'm not sure we're there, yet! That is based, on the drft/vlntr/vacation buy-back done in the last 2.5 yrs. Not to mention the attendance, or lack of, at all the rallies and picketing events. We're learning, slowly. But, it's going to take more than lanyards and stickers to get the kinds of gains we all expect.

Default ..washout recovered....

..yes,,,i've seen that starting in jan 2008...it is reduced from ten to eight...an improvement...but not true trip rig washout prtection....let's take for example...the first and last duty days of a week long trip...min pay per duty period...is three hours..but put into a week long trip..is is tafb....or maybe one and ahalf hours in actuality...now...if one flies 5 hours in that first duty day/period...he should have received that 5 hours credit...either as in a duty day...or duty period...even with this 8 hours improvement...all the domestic half days are left unprotected...does anyone see where this is addressed?...
