Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer didn't want to wear the ribbon for the Gay Pride march. "Who does not to want to wear the lanyard?"
(said with a latin accent)

To have an argument we would need someone to say that wearing the lanyard will accomplish something (you know like it did for ole miss).
As a side note I proudly wear my lanyard because I believe in futile gestures. Not because I am a conformist.
As a compromise I propose we wear two lanyards, our ALPA landyards and an Ole Miss lanyard to show solidarity with our old white Mississippi brothers, Alpa lanyard on top except for game days. I draw the line at wearing a Gator lanyard.

Leaving the lanyard at the house is a great ice-breaker when meeting the crew.
"So where's your lanyard?"
"I loaned it to a guy that flies DPs. He couldn't find his and needed some top-cover afforded by displaying some unity."

Resignation
Problems Caused
1. Quits trying to solve problem and encourages others to do the same.
2. Makes the situation seem out of control.
3. - Not applicable-

4. Whining annoys and distracts, often at critical phases of a problem.
What's the big deal with wearing a lanyard? Is it not easier than (being asked) to walk a picket line? You got to wear you ID anyway, why not put your "needs" (good contract/working QOL/pay raise) ahead of your desire to show loyalty to your school or former military employer.
Such a small gesture to help an important goal. It just reminds me of just how hard it will be to ask for "real" sacrifice, if and when we get that point.
It is so much easier to stay in the foxhole and let others fight the fight. You get the same rewards whether you help the cause or not. Consider that when you are asked to wear a lanyard or add a pin to your lapel.

Just had GWOE, part 4 thought this excerpt seems appropriate

And I am simply pointing out attacking members because they voice a rational argument is a terrific way to gain unity.

Again insults instead of a rational argument. I wear a lanyard. Worn one for quite a while. I just dont think it accomplishes anything. We have a union that is to afraid to hold DP flyers accountable but they expect great results with 98% compliance of lanyard wearing.
