Kind of hard to attend job interviews when your overseas for 3 months. Omni was trying to figure out how to reduce pilot attrition without increasing costs... Well I guess they found a way.

Quality of life is a sick call away. Everyone on property has been here for almost two years. The recalls coming back will be just a few months shy of that mark. The sick time is there, you just have to use it. Just saying if you're passing up an interview to go work your 18 days...get your head checked.

Any numbers on how many recalls went out & were answered, and how many still on furlough? Weren't there 12 in new-hire class (6 on ea airframe) that were part of the total # of furloughs? I've been a poolee since Oct and thought I was close to getting a class before the furlough. Any news on further recalls?
Thanks!

I'm not trying to bash your hopes man but I will tell you what happened in the fall of 2011 when they stopped hiring and parked the DC-10s.

I had a friend that was supposed to have started class in October 2011. The Friday afternoon before class was to have started, he received a call that class was cancelled. They didn't give him any more information than that. He was in the pool for months after that, or so he thought, until he found out that they had purged the pool and that he would have to reapply and reinterview if he still wanted to work there.

Aaah yes. Minor details. It was the threat of parking the 10s to cram the POS contract down our throats and then actually parking them 4 months later.

And with the 767 being broke, those pilots can kiss the 95 hour average monthly flying good bye and back down to around guarantee.

Not to worry. I'm sure teamsters 1224; their little p*ss ant attorney and JP, the architect of the POS contract will come to the rescue of those involuntarily junior assigned to purgatory for three months. Ya, right....
