Atpcliff, have you worked for Miami Air? Have you ever worked for a South Florida charter airline? I can tell you that you have written as much bullsh!t on here as well. Were'nt you in fact fired from USA Jet and at least not invited to return?

Well. That does it for me. My Grey Goose Martini is all over my IPad. In the words of Frank Sinatra sang. "Fairy tales can come true for you." I wonder which one of the Mgt. gnomes blackmailed poor FlyLear60XR to troll this thread with such dribble. Hope he was well insulated from lightening strikes for spewing such propaganda. After all, it's naughty to tell a lie.
Management has and probably still throw those who don't know the secret handshake under the bus to protect their own.
Be afraid... Be very afraid... Dont drink the Koolaide and don't walk towards the light!
Talk to me Baba Ganoush..

Some key points (reminders) for those looking at taking an interview here….
1- Very small contribution to retirement. You will not be able to retire with the retirement fund you get here. So keep that in mind if you have a family. Management doesn’t believe in funding your retirement. I believe the maximum the company pays for first officers (if you put in the full match amount) is less than $80 a month.
2- No non-rev agreements with any carriers. No non-rev travel for you or your family. Although most flights are pretty full these days, you don’t even have the option at Miami Air. You also can’t get “airline” rates at most cruise ships, hotels, etc. We don’t participate in any of those programs.
3- Enforced training contract ($18,000). With all the hiring going on in the industry, expect to pay out the training contract when you leave. You’ll either get sick of it here faster then you think, or you’ll get an offer for a much better job (which is anywhere really), and you’ll have to pay out the bond. It will cost you $$$ to leave.
4- Lowest pay rates in the industry for similar sized aircraft. Most regionals are paying out more overall compensation per year when you include the bonuses, over time, etc. We pay peanuts compared to other regional, charter and scheduled carriers. New Hires are usually in shock and disbelief when they get their first pay check and see what the actual take home is after all the deductions etc.
5- Lots of deadheading for free. We don’t pay for deadheading, so the company loves to buy the cheapest ticket. Get ready for the most undesirable flight schedules to get from South Florida to your destination/plane. You’ll almost never go direct and will usually spend about 12-18 hours to get to your domestic city (with lots of stops along the way). If they can save $1 on a cheaper ticket, they literally will save it. (If MIA-JFK costs $100, but if limo to FLL-CLT-PHL-LGA-limo to JFK costs $99.... you're going on a joy ride across the east coast!)
6- Continued shrinking of the fleet. We are hiring simply for attrition. The fleet is shrinking and is expected to shrink another two planes at the end of this year leaving only four planes left. Even with the fleet downsizing, we are hiring because so many people are leaving due to horrible work conditions and bad pay. Eastern down the street is growing and taking a lot of our flying.
7- Low employee morale. Pilot and company employees have been dealing with budget cuts, a shrinking company, management that doesn't care, empty promises, etc. I haven't seen it this bad ever. Nobody seems to enjoy coming to work anymore, and everyone is always complaining. Not a "happy" work environment anymore here like in the good old days.
8- Low monthly block hours. If you are looking to come here to build some Boeing 737 time to "enhance" your resume and then move on, prepare to spend a long time here trying to build your time. We don't fly a lot of block hours, but you do work a lot because you spend a lot of time deadheading to planes etc. Do not expect to be here a year and fly 700 hours. It will take you years and years to get that. Most guys average about 20-30 block hours a month.
…the list goes on. Miami Air is not somewhere I would recommend for those looking to start or continue their career. The negatives are way too plentiful here unfortunately. There are many better opportunities out there!

If you're willing to work for a shrinking airline, that pays minimum wages, refuses to sign a new pilot contract, treats crews poorly, and makes you sign an $18,000 training contract, (list goes on and on).... then go to the interview. They will make promises they can't keep to get you on property. Once you sign the training contract, if you leave they will use your money to recruit and train your replacement (cycle goes on and on).
With everyone in the industry paying BONUSES, and increasing overall compensation, I don't understand why someone would sign a training contract and come here.
If you're looking for a B737 Miami operator... have you looked at Eastern?

Its not for everyone. I personally enjoy it here. Its not American Airlines or Delta but the flying is fun and the crews are great. Hopefully some of the negative things will change if we ever get a new contract.
The rest of the information posted in this thread is pretty accurate still. Hope this helps.
Good Luck!

According to AirlinePilotCentral:
"Is Hiring?: Yes
Hiring due to fleet expansion for late 2016 and some attrition"
Management has been promising more planes to new hires for years and years. Which is funny, because during the past couple years we have actually been downsizing and returning planes to the lessor and selling them to shrink. We shrunk the fleet by almost half during the last few years. Now they are back to telling new hires that there is a huge expansion program coming and that's what the hiring is for?
"some attrition"??? We are loosing guys as fast as they can leave! The hiring is to replace all the pilots that left because the company has such unacceptable working conditions and such low compensation!
The lies never end at this place... when will they learn that until they treat us like human beings and with a little respect, they will never retain people!!
To those looking at interviewing here... do your homework! Hiring is not for growth.......
