Ok guys here is my $ .02 worth..
During interview we were told flag/dom was on the way and pax would soon follow with x number of planes.
So far flag dom on hold for obvious reasons and planes are trickling in.
Schedules are 3/4 on with 3/4 off. Scheduling department is a joke. They take your days off and reschedule them as they please. You have to complain and stand your ground.
Jumpseating is getting better with more airlines coming.
Pay is being looked at but for now its crappy.
Upgrades are happening if you meet the minimums not necessarily seniority.
Synopsis:
Eastern recently went through a CEO change. Is it going to be a good change? Time will tell. Yesterday Chairman came to talk to employees and the feeling everyone left with is that for now Eastern will be a charter operator and pax service somewhere down the othing for sure. I see a Union in the future.

Now maybe you can tell me what have you done to help fix these issues. Because if you have not tried to help in any way then you are also part of the problem.
I am not a fan of airing our dirty laundry. At the end of the day it takes a village not just one person. We want to attract quality people willing to invest in a young airline. Everyone was a startup at one point.
So voice your opinion to management and offer solutions, and ENCOURAGE good people to come to Eastern.

Hate to break the news, But history will repeat itself on this start up. There is not enough revenues to support Eastern's current business model and it is just coasting on the momentum of the initial cash investment and plan. Good luck when you ask for more money.

How many times did they say that on CNN too??
I wonder how many other start ups heard the same thing. Jetblue, Spirit, Allegiant... regardless, we have a brand new NG on property. More planes are coming. Time will tell.

Thank for such detailed opinion of the airline. I am sure "The Grass is Greener On The Other Side". 🙄

You can keep your head in the sand all you want. Things are not going to change unless there is a housecleaning starting with occ and continuing to training.
Be honest, the training is amongst the worst. Some instructors can barely explain how VNAV works. They are more worried about you getting the call sign right then teaching. check airmen don't like to teach. One spends the time rushing you and womanizing witgh fa's, another bashing management and belittle you for making mistakes. They expect you to be an expert on day one. No professionalism and huge egos. To top it off rumor is they are promoting instructors based on ethnicity not qualifications. We'll see...
So lets see how the plan is going to work...

I don't think names are necessary. I am not suggesting "latino" anything. I just pointed out the bs in traning. That you can fly a plane does not make you a good instructor and viceversa. I came from a scumbag outfit to where I hoped was a different place.
