1) Does new Eastern have a jump seat agreement with American?

2) Is 3,000 TT a hard number? (If pilot is ATP and over 1k Turbine PIC)

3) Do they require a training contract for new hires?

Default Eastern is the new Titanic..

Looks like from all the rumors of being sold, the holding pattern with hiring and upgrades, and getting rid of the new airplane and possibly the -700, that the ship is slowly sinking.
Pilots and FA's are bailing fast.....

Well it was fun while it lasted, I guess. I'm sure AA is breathing a sigh of relief to know that EAL won't be infringing on their market

Shiitte, There goes my slot at Xtra and/or Swift and/or Amerijet. Well, luckily Eastern didn't get big enough to make too much of a dent. Sorry to hear folks will be losing jobs though.

Eastern is doing just fine. Like any other airline trying to spread their wings. Just because things aren't moving as fast as they did when the previous CEO was there, it doesn't mean that they aren't moving forward. Paycheck hasn't been late yet. Flag and domestic is coming very soon. Problem with us pilots, is the damn rumors. We love to spread rumors. For us sticking with it, we are working hard to see that Eastern makes it.

Aviation is a bold field and EAL is trying to survive in the big pond. We all know startups have it tough. In the short time its been around there has been many obstacles that we are trying to conquer, and we have. Rumors are just that, rumors. Until they are confirmed we can just speculate. Is the new plane going away? Thats the rumor! Meanwhile I completed my Differences Training and some have flown it. Until the last day it goes, it is here. The rumor is it's going away because the payment is too high and we can get 2 for the price of one. If that is the case then be it. Whatever it takes to survive. Truth is, there are many good people behind it, trying to make a difference and see this place make it. We need to crawl before we can walk. In the short time we've been around, we've accomplished quite a bit. Flag and Domestic is coming soon we hope. Until then we will keep on trucking against the wishes of many.
Like someone said, paycheks have been steady and have not been missed. Is it the perfect airline? Nope, but I have not come across one either.

Amen brother. Like you said, it's just sad how it looks that so many of our own are eager to see us fail, when we should be encouraging one another, hoping for the best, and hoping our families don't have to suffer to a company shutting down. Can Eastern go down? Sure. Can it succeed? Of course it can. We have a job and it's not a bad one, flying decent equipment. It'd be nice if our fellow pilot community starts cheering for our success instead of talking so much crap about a place they haven't worked a day at. And by the way, I know many guys that work in every 36th street airline, and many that work elsewhere, majors, corporate etc. And the guys that work on theb36th street outfits, are in no way shape or form any less professional and good pilots just because they work in 36th street. Everyone has the right to choose where they work, and one place might be better than the other for one person. We shouldn't criticize their choice, just because we would choose different. If we, as pilots, came together, we would have it so much better all around, but any company that looks at these boards can see how divided we are, and when we are divided, they will conquer. Let's try to encourage more than we criticize, and let's try to stay positive for the little guys that are trying to make it, be it Eastern or swift or extra or anywhere else. Every airline has problems. Even the mighty American does.
