We have bases, you'll only be flown from home if you're not scheduled to work from your base.

Thks. Like to look into it but it just doesn't work. Commuting, crash pad, maybe a car, then minimal perdiem compared to homebased since your base is your "home". Starting pay like $3800/mo. Jumpseating might be really tough. Could have to buy a ticket or two. Seems impossible. Too bad they stopped home basing.

This companies continue to operate because people let them. If pilots keep showing up and working for these conditions, they will continue to lower the conditions. Read the thread on Xtra and Dynamic.

You are better at a regional with proper jumpseat, bennies and a possible flow thru.

It's hard to get off the supplemental/charter train once you're on it. I went backwards years ago to only go forward a few years later.

Yes, I am lucky too but sometimes you must make your luck.

Touché these place are what they are, just get your time and get the hell out to somewhere better. Just don't fall in the trap and get stuck at these places 121S airlines come and go, but all operate on the same premise.

Yes the regionals can be better deal benefits wise if you can get in early enough on regionals with movement before you get stuck on the bottom of the list.

Every situation for everyone is different, do what best suits you, hopefully living in base.

Thanks for the good info. One more thing,,, how much $ would you say is typical per month on per diem? Just guess your best. I know it must swing a bit.
And is it automatically calculated/paid or you have to turn in forms?

You have to turn in forms, even being an efb airline were still in the Stone Age for some items. Per diem again varies on domestic or international ops. Maybe $200-350 per paycheck.

Thanks again. Decided to look around. 44k with obligation to buy own tickets on the days when a jumpseat doesn't work, and the hassle of two sectors to base even if jumpseat does work, then hotels or crashpad at base,,, it's impossible. Factor 20 days a month away from the family in. In fact,,, it's an embarrassment that I would be ashamed to tell anyone at a party that I am even attempting.
For the pilots who live near bases it might be a cool niche arrangement. Nothing against anyone who is making it work. Best of luck.
$3700/mo - tax = $2900. $2900 - $800(round trip fare from home once a month)= $2100. Take hotels or crashpad, taxis at base from that and there is very little to live on. Even the whole $2100, or $2900 a month in the pocket is quite low.

Health insurance is 100% paid by employee right now. Cost is ok for a single person, but sky high for family, coverage is not great

Bases are varied. My suggestion is getting that ironed out before accepting the position. Some have gone to training and found out they have to commute.

We are in CASS. Quite a few jump seat agreements, and our coordinator is constantly working on more.

Word is 18 airframes on property by the end of the year so upgrade will be fast for those who meet the requirements. Could even be hired as a street captain.

New pay is based on hourly with a 60hr/month guarantee. Overtime days are payed at 150%. 3hr/day, or flown, whichever is greater. The pay is a step in the right direction
