I went to flight safety down there where they do for another company on the 145 and we only had 8. 10 really is a lot.

Most are. However, we recently hired a few off-line guys to help keep the training boat floating as we lose Line Check Airmen and others to the CPP.

Thanks for the info. Knew was being considered, didn't realize it was now a done deal.
They are C5 employees, not Flight safety. Am I correct in that?

If you need more than 10 sims to get ready for a check ride, after 20 hours of GFS, you should really reconsider your choice of profession.

They are C5 employees, but they are off-line and not included on the pilot seniority list. Make sense?

20 Hrs of GFS . Great !! Now, I can see how you can make it with less than 10 hours.

Thank you all for the information.

Default 10/8/2016 MEC Update

CommutAir Pilots,

The company approached your MEC on shortening the bidding window for upgrade preferences to Tuesday, October 11 at 1800 EST. Your MEC approved this request since the company has been working feverishly on an improved staffing model that will allow us to match vacancy postings with our capabilities to train. As a result, the company posted our usual numbers (7 ERJ CPs, 2 ERJ FOs, and 10 DHC-8 CPs).

As far as the DHC-8 CP vacancies, the company needs to fill as many of these as possible. Based on current bids, it appears that many of those slots will go to upgradeable new hires from our October new hires who are in basic indoc. After looking at preferences, your MEC feels if we wait for the full 10-day timetable, those pilots would not be able to travel and get in position for their systems class. Please update your preferences by October 11, 1800 EST.

Feel free to contact your MEC with any questions.

Regards,

It's not 10 hours of sim.

Its 10 sim sessions, 4 hours each.

40 hours in the sim, and FO's and CA's are paired together, so all you have to learn is your seat specific stuff.

It is more than enough.
