Good for the flight attendants. Glad they’re standing up for themselves and telling the company exactly how they feel. The few people two time zones away need to know how the hundreds on the frontline feel. Can you image that FAs are not even allowed to be fatigued? All they’re asking for is to see their families.

If he hadn't of responded and selected NAV I was about to take the plane. ATC asked if we were turning because at the 12 position on the other side, another jet was coming at us. We went slightly through course. He just wasn't paying attention or couldn't focus. I thought one time thing, okay...

But then again coming in on final, different approach, his head clearly wasn't in it. I knew we weren't even close to being stable up ahead, said we're not going to make it early on. At 1000' we were 40 knots fast, flaps 3 (he just then called flaps 5), I called unstable.

Had that not been the end I would I would have called scheduling and a CP about him being sick and the complete lack of focus.

Pilots, if you're that damn sick and can't focus, call out!
Did you bring it up during debrief items?

And so it begins..............CA JAs

Its not so much the fact that they need flying to be covered...its the language that upsets me

"this is so and so from scheduling you've been Jr assigned, this is your 2 hour call out"

The disrespect.....

How bout a nice "Hey we have some flying to be covered today which will be considered a Jr's assignment, or BTW its 150% pay" every now and then....like bro....I'm a human not a robot

OK rant over

I do feel bad for the FA’s. Even when they’re staffed and get their days off, it’s a horrible job that barely pays its worth. But my last few trips my FA’s are only getting 4-10 days off a month. They are being flown as much as the FAR’s will legally allow them to be flown, regardless of their contract. Much more than I ever had to fly even with JA’s during our FO shortage last year. I hope their circumstances improve. I’m amazed 50% of them haven’t walked out.

It might be a matter of time before we are limited to carrying only 19 pax at a time

I wonder if this means Compass will have to "sweeten the pot" for the flight attendants like they have to the pilots over the years when the staffing has gotten thin and recruits are hard to come by. Something a bit longer than a few days of extra pay. Definitely a much bigger pool of potential applicants for FAs though than pilots.

Just bid for 95 hours and waive your two days off between trips..... at least you get the illusion of control over your schedule.

Not defending Skeds but they are probably pretty salty and burnt out from having to JA FAs on the daily for the past 3 months through no fault of their own..for $12.50 an hour.
