You seem very glass half empty, and I’m a glass half full kinda person..I’ve been in this position two other times in my career...it all works out, even if there’s times being down in the valley. Keep the faith...don’t always look at the negatives, it’ll ruin your attitude for the rest of your career.
I think everyone knows the DO’s past issues but judging the outcome of Compass’s future on those words is being out of touch with how deals are done

I’ve played the mil game. I’ve had crappy leaders. I’ve dealt with it all, people call it pessimistic or negative, but I call it realistic.
People are on this forum spinning their wheels for a reason, they have a need to feel or become informed. I’ve tried to keep it fun and light, but it’s insulting to have people state “facts” when they can’t back it up (this is where I’m talking about your “glass half full” approach)
The DO here is only employed here because he can’t be elsewhere. People leave specifically because of our leadership. Have you not listened to the company calls and the lack of respect? And it isn’t out of touch with how deals are done... talk to the committees. Our DO destroys any productivity the union has made headway on and resets it back to ground zero. (Sorry, I guess I’m being half empty again).
Moving fwd, I’ll try to be more positive for you. I guess the memes I’ve posted have been too dark for you.

The minute pilots stop thinking about being pilots and start thinking about how a business is run with extremely narrow profit margins in a volatile and consolidating industry, with a labor shortage it becomes clear as to why certain decisions are made. While it’s crappy that people’s livelihoods are in the balance, that’s there way of thinking...
The union at CZ is weak, sry but that’s the truth, and management knows it. I respect the effort they put in but look at how much turnover there’s been on the MEC, Contract Extensions without pilot approvals, grievances that have been going on for several years with no resolution in site, etc. How would you expect management to perceive that? Obviously there letting the airline bleed without furloughing because they have a plan...you can be as negative as you want, but it’s not going to change anything. Those who spend their time looking for the faults in others usually make no time to correct their own...there’s many other opportunities out their.
I’m positive because I want what’s best for Compass and the people that work there, I spent a lot of time at that airline and was a great place for me during my career. While it sucks to see what’s going over there and in talking to my friends there the lack of transparency between front line employees and management, I also know that Compass while not in any resemblance to its present form will be around for many many years ahead of us...

I'm certain that 2020 will be a better year for all the Compass pilots and that you will all able to find great jobs at non-HK airlines. I remember the day I heard that Compass was purchased by TSH and how bad I felt for everyone knowing that all the good things the Compass pilots enjoyed would be taken away so that my boss could take every penny he could from you and move it into his pocket.
I can't predict what will happen from here with Compass but I can tell you for certain that the lives of the Compass people are not even a consideration in any negotiation that might be going on.
I know that some of you guys will be shy about asking for help and letters of recommendation from guys you flew with who have moved up to the majors, but don't be. Networking is important. Interview preparation is important. Form study groups to ask each other interview questions. Know all the standandard questions they ask and have answers ready, "Tell me about a time where you ..." Have your buddies listen and comment on your answers. Be able to answer in your sleep. Be prepared for success and you will achieve it in this environment.

...the DO is who he is, you probably heard things before you came here just like everyone else did. He’s a TSH guy and he’s there to make the decisions with STLs blessing, he has no emotions when it comes to making business decisions, and while you and others may not like that, again that’s the TSH style. While you may not like how things are run, that’s how it’s always been since DL sold CZ...
My first day the chief came in, "Guys, I want to get one thing straight. We are OWNED by Trans States, WE ARE NOT TRANS STATES".
And then came Jeremy, which by my measure is when it all changed and Compass stopped being Compass.

This couldn’t be more true. Once TSH got T naugle out of the way by way of flow, they knew they had their ticket punched to destroying the culture. At that point the airline was never the same as no one stood in their way.
