I have not used that scan in a while :-/
Is a lot of emphasis placed on the 727 sim scan if you have almost all your hours on an all glass panel?!

The sim really isn't bad. I thought it was pretty easy even though i havn't flown steam gauges in a while

I am a firm believer that both parties should live with the contract that they sign. But the company should have no complaints if someone leaves before completing OE.

If someone goes to Compass just to get the type rating and leave before doing LOE, that would seem disingenuous to me. I think it is clearly understood by all that if you take the job, you do it because you want the job. But if another job comes along that you want more before you have completed training, there is no requirement to pass it up and stay at CP.

I keep hearing people say "the training contracts are not enforceable". To that I say, "so what?" What does that have to do with it? If you sign your name to a training contract, aren't you obligated to live by your word? Are you so dishonest that your WORD (not to mention signature) is worth nothing?

But when a company chooses to employ a written contract instead of gentleman's verbal agreement, then one need not feel guilty about living by the letter of the contract even if it means quitting after receiving the type rating but before the end of LOE.

I agree with you on the training contract issue. I know lots of companies check credit reports. You could go through the entire course and then quit, but no type rating unless you're planning on getting sent to collections for 12K.

I have not seen a copy of the training contract, but LOE means "line oriented evaluation". The LOE IS your type ride - not to be confused with IOE, OE, line indoc, or whatever your particular company calls it. If that's the case, then it would not be possible to get your type and run.

To all the attacks from you guys that KNOW so much, Tell us you all mighty knowing ones.....Where should ppl be applying right now in a time when no one is hiring

I guess they should go to the airlines that are letting ppl go??

I don't think Compass is all that much better than many of the other airlines, but they are hiring. I do work for Compass and enjoy my job.

We happen to have a unique situation right now that is keeping us for the short term in our seats. Maybe we will get furloughed, but if you live your life over what MIGHT happen to you I would hate to see some of your other choices.

Good luck to all, and lets try to help each other through this Extreme Turbulence.

Cheers

There are 19 hard lines on the bid packet for August in Memphis. I am still in training and would be able to hold a line if I could bid right now. In MSP it looked like I would probably get a reserve line.

The lines for august suck kinda hardcore, at least in MSP. Mostly 11-13 days off, not much high credit, lots of inefficient 4-day pairings paying less than 20 hrs.
