I can confirm that they will be accepting applications again on Feb. 15, I just talked with HR yesterday.

I thought they had all the apps they could handle and already picked all they would need for the 66 new hires. Is this in addition to that hiring?

I was told the reopening was to prepare for the women in aviation conference on the 25-27. On wai.org Compass is listed as one of the exhibitors.

But then again, so is Mesaba....and Express Jet.....and about 5 other places that are currently laying off

Is there any chance we can get a few more Delta guys to give us a second opinion on this. I'm mostly ignorant to the staffing levels over at new Delta, but I was under the impression that they were indeed overstaffed across the board.

We are not overstaffeda accross the board. They are carrying extra staffing on some categories due to seasonal changes, but this summer we will be short. July block hours will be 22% higher than next November, we have to staff for July, and carry the extra for November.

ExpressJet is running recall classes.

I will say as a MEM based pilot and already eligible to flow I REALLY hope they hire this summer. Maybe I could secure a nice warm seat for Delta here in MEM before we all get displaced. However if not I guess I'll have to break out the parka and snow shoes and head back north.....and back to commuting

On a side note MEM guys and gals read up on your move policy in the contract. It has some good stuff in it if you are looking at moving to a new domicile. You can delay the choice as well for 18 months just in case you change your mind too. Good luck too all with this decision.

Oh and I think I will be leaning towards MSP...unless the lines in DTW or the new base look really good.

Does anyone know of any good crashpads in the MSP area with public transportation to the airport? I checked the Mesaba threads as well, no luck. PM me if you have any leads...thanks for the help!

Question for the guys that have finished the homestudy portion of training:

When were you paid for that portion of the training?

4andCounting 01-26-2010 06:18 PM

how many pilots at compass are able to flow right now. I mean have severed their 30 months?

cfitstew 01-26-2010 06:22 PM

About 40, increasing by about 20 per month for the next several months.
