and besides that...you can take a sharp 25 year old guy and a 60 year old doing the same test and you will see different results....
so tell me is the 60 year old dude not qualify for flying your family or mine around the country?... because his reaction time got slower by age? even though he has been a captain for 20 years?....
our profession is base in knowledge and also experience...
you cant replace experience...

But thats not what I said. Never once said "they shoudlt be pilots".

I did say, I'm glad they do the tests, and glad they chose to uphold the standards. A benefit to those flying, and those riding in the back.

ExpressJet, skywest, compass all have testing to get hired....and obviously legacy companies do as well. Pass the tests if you want the job. That's all there is to it.No point arguing over whether you think its valid to have that as part of the process to get hired. Compass has been doing it that way for almost 8 years. It is what it is.
Good luck.

Look I got it , ok that is good to have test at interviews but at the same time... they should look at the hole picture here.... have a 5 minutes talk to the candidate.. and ask him a few questions... and then make a decision ..no just like... you did not pass the test..bye

I have passed those test and I'm a pilot on one of those companies...and also I have passed one of the most difficult test in south america for LAN Airlines...
so I know one thing or two about passing test...
Im not blaming the company or the methods... Im just saying that if you have a pilot with previous 121 experience and had a bad day on the test , they should have a talk to him and see what can that person brings into the company.

[QUOTE=GrassLandings;1851103]Source on the 25 leaving in just a weeks time??? Havent heard that one yet.

I know of 4 non flow pilots leaving in April. 2 captains and 2 FO's. If the other 20 are flows and there is another I haven't heard about that would make 25.

Once again, standards... If you dont pass the test, then it is goodbye. Thats how the world works.
However, thats not the whole story, they do talk to you before and after. Its not like they dont socialize or get to know you first. In fact, u dont start the tests for a long time after you get there. So they do place a lot of value on your personality. But if you bomb a test, just like in college, a fail is a fail. Personality won't save anyone.

They really aren't much to worry about, I think people think everyone is failing these. I dont know what the standards are but the vast majority pass as far as I know

25 check airmen are not leaving next week. That's completely false. There will be a few check airmen leaving at that time but they're being replaced as we speak. There are at least 4 finishing up check airmen training within the next week or so.
In the coming months most of the check airmen will be leaving but will be replaced at the same time. Not sure why you're panties are in such a bunch over this. We are, however, behind in new hired pilot training.
That "guy" who told you that sounds like he was being dramatic or didn't know what he was talking about.
