Why is the performance so bad? Staffing or something else?

Operational issues, not staffing. LAX is a nightmare, gates never open. You will land 15 early and block in 20 late. SFO always had EDTCs. Lots of MX issues lately. The list goes on. I don't think staffing has become a major issue quite yet although they have been offering critical pay and raising our minimum line values often

Not to mention the 30-35 mins you get between flights. You'll park at 68A and the next flight will be out of 51A. By the time you get the pax off and get to the next gate you 15 mins to departure. I wish mgmt would tag along for a day in LAX and see what really happens.

A big part of their problem was holding off on hiring in 2014, for this year's needs.

Imagine a D.O. or CEO getting out on the line to actually see how the day to day ops works in real-time. Haha. That'd be a sight to see. I'd personally offer to let the fly around with me for a day or 4.

Anybody know why they re ran the 4_15 bid? 7 guys got bummped out of upgrade class and are now alternates. I'm guessing because guys got the time but how can they just re run an award? Email says due to "contractual provisions"... Can someone elaborate? Thnx

I was told it had to do with Sec. 24 A. 5. Which states that someone can submit a bid for upgrade provided they WILL have the hours prior to class date based on 75 hours per month.
Sooo, I'm guessing some guys bid CA upgrade and were bypassed for lack of hours and this provision came into play.
I would love to hear more about it from someone who was directly involved. It did suck to be promised upgrade only to have it yanked a week later.

That's exactly what happened. Guys that were 75 or less hours away were bidding and getting bypassed by the company because they didn't have 1k even though the contract allowed it so they had to re run the bid per the contract
