And that is another reason why Republic "owning" their planes is meaningless. Even if Republic owned all of their airplanes outright (which the don't) Republic management won't sit on those airplanes unless they are getting compensated from their mainline partners. They don't sell their own tickets and if their mainline partner stops paying them, Republic management will relinquish them anyway. anybody care to give their opinion on Compass as compared to Trans State? I know they are owned by the same parent company, but are there any big differences between the two from a pilots perspective. I know bases and airplanes obviously. But to me they seem somewhat similar, especially as compared to go jet.

How are you not getting this? Republic canceled orders for 25 new ejets. Those 25 were part of the original 55 ordered to meet the requirements of the new United CPA. There are roughly 20 ejets flying for delta. Those 20 jets will be used to help cover the flying on a CPA that is ALREADY IN PlACE! United won't have to pay more money, they are already paying it. So United won't have to pay more money, republic won't have to bid on more flying and they get to get out of the 145 market and reduce down to a snake operating certificate which is the company's stated goal.
