Come on people. Take a step back and see the big picture. This is not a stressful job.

If the dispatcher asks what's broken, tell them. When all the boxes are checked and everything is done we'll get an out time. If that happens to be when our scheduled out time is that's great. If not. Oh well. If you honestly believe that telling dispatch about an issue is what made you a minute late then put it in your delay report, move on, and let management hash it out in their daily meetings.

Although things have the illusion of being "time sensitive" my job is to make sure everything is completed correctly when I'm moving an airplane from point A to B. Whether or not we're on time is honestly someone else's problem.

We're airline pilots. This isn't the last flight out of Saigon. "Time sensitive" really isn't something we should be considering as part of doing our job correctly.

Anyone commuting from DFW? I'm assuming a new hire would be better off relocating.

We do the Delta flights to LAX and MSP so you'll be able to reserve the jumpseat

It's not that great of a commute. The Delta flights are usually full so its the uncomfortable fa or cockpit jumpseat. AA flights are oversold everyday so I'm in their jumpseat 98% of the time with another person in the 2nd jumpseat

I think this has been addressed but do we get paid for doing the 9M CBTs?

You'll get 12 hours in the settlement check the month following.

Can anyone add some clarity on first year FO pay?:

According to the APC Airline Profile page(as of May 2016):

CPZ 1yr FO pay is $36/hr.

Monthly guarantee = 75 hours.

Gross: $2700/month. $32,400/year.

Is there an average line (hours), or is 75 hours realistic?

Also figuring the $1.65/hr per diem will not move any monthly salary numbers appreciably.

Saw the post a few pages back about family medical insurance at $550/month! Takes the $2700 down to $2150 pretty quick! And that's before taxes and any other deductions ...

Any other numbers out there that will move the salary +/- that I didn't list above?

At least 3rd year Captain pay has some breathing room (if upgrade time stays the same).

Thanks!

The 75 hour guarantee is what it is. You'll get this while reserve or build up line. Once you hold a line it's up to you to decide what range to credit, fly a lot or little. I usually credit around 90 hours but that's what I bid for a still get 14-15 days off in a 31 day month.
Per diem is based on how much flying you do and away from base. Reserve or CDOs it won't be much. Line holders will get a good bit. Mine is around the 500 area. To put a little light on per diem, in a 5 day trip there's a little over 100 hours of time away from base.
If you pick up trips in a certain window, you get 125%
There's often critical pay trips/sim that are 150%
Others may be able to add more but that's what I can think of the top of my head
