Although this place isn't bad compared to most, as I am a mesa refugee, this place can still be better. One thing we are lacking here, that I have seen lately, is that the pilots are not kept in the loop of what is going on with this PBS issue. It is not hard to write a simple email to us all explaining things, they sure find the time to tell us about open positions and critical pay all day long. But if guys are not being awarded properly then that could potentially make their life hell for a month. That is a huge issue in my eyes and this needs to be fixed ASAP... just saying

I agree. It just amazes me how some are screaming "contract violation this" and "contract violation that" or "someone file a grievance". File your own damn grievance if it's that big of a deal to you. Or better yet volunteer in the union if you want change. Sure they can do better. They can always do better. However complaining here is not going to create the change their looking for.
I agree with you that people complaining on here should be second to emailing the union and filing grievances. That being said it's no secret that this forum is closely monitored by people that are involved in the day to day ops at hq.

It just seems like everything is a revolving door at Compass as of late, people just come and go (not talking about pilots, although attrition seems high too).
If they can't keep high level people in place without leaving, this is what happens. DM, who was in charge of the bid stuff left for greener pastures, maybe this new guy just hasn't caught up with things yet. All of our dispatchers seem new, as do people in crew scheduling. They probably have way too much stuff on the to-do list and too little people to deal with them and not enough people who have been with the company long enough to be of any help.
Furthermore, if Sabre is experiencing issues - we're sitting ducks too.
I don't think anybody intentionally wants things to be late, missing or screwed up. It just seems like we're grossly under staffed -- and Compass is trying to be what TSH is not, yet TSH owns us, so it's like shaving against the grain constantly.
Yeah, they should E-mail us and give us a "heads up" about things, but, that'd be 10 addtl. E-mails per day in my inbox I rather not have to go through. I really hope things improve, and that this doesn't continue going downhill....but I truly think being done with the flows and getting our last AA bird was nowhere near the end of our "growing pains".
I bet all of this will be addressed sooner or later....or, someone will eventually bring this up on the next conference call when they "unmute" the convo.

Do you work at Compass? Do you know the difference between us, TSA and GoJet? We are definitely run different. Otherwise we would be just like TSA and GoJet. It's a miracle we're not.

Compass MEC on Facebook
"The MEC is aware of the numerous bidding issues that have plagued PBS over the past few months. For the first time, in April the Association had a number of volunteers working in Building C with crew planning to help address some of these issues. While it is not immediately apparent, there has been steady progress in improving the processes in place. The PBS and Pairing Analysis committees are working on a joint statement explaining the process and the issues that arose in this bid cycle. Please be on the look-out for a Hotline Extra by the end of this week addressing these issues."

But compared to other regionals, we are just fine and are still able to pull pilots from much larger regionals who are failing, stagnating, or have no morale what so ever. The grass is not always greener on the ther side. You guys are making Compass sound like its a complete mess and we aren't treated well. FAR FROM IT. In fact, quite the opposite.
I get it, PBS got screwed up and it's frustrating, yes. However, every business has an occasional issue like this in software. It's a fact of life. The fact that PBS actin up is our biggest complaint is actually a good thing in comparison to other airlines. Everyone needs to take a step back, breathe, and let them try and fix this now that they know about it. No need for all you Debbie downers to come on here and talk **** of your employer because one thing didn't go perfect. You are only painting a bad and incorrect picture for prospect new hires.

We are not run anything like gojetz or TSA. Trans States Holdings owns all 3 of us, so yes, things like payroll, benifits and long term planning are done under TSH. TSH is a holding company, and TSA and gojetz are other airlines. We are not run like TSA or Gojetz. Not even close. As far as day to day treatment, policies, morale, you name it... We are nothin like those other two airlines. If you think we are similar, we are not even close. Think about it, our biggest complaint is IT issues. IT issues!!!! It's been a rough few months with PBS. But chances are this will get fixed. If the emails bother you so much, turn off notifications. It's not hard. I'm not trying to defend the company here, PBS needs to be fixed and turnover in scheduling and dispatching is high at the moment. But so are the pilots. Every other airline is hiring more than just pilots. So yeah, dispatchers and such are gonna be leaving too.
