Word302 either make some friends, meet a woman, get some flying done, submit a resume to compass, or stop trolling the forums of regionals you don't even work for. You're like that kid in high school who shows up at a party uninvited and sticks around after everyone asks him to leave. I'm sure your OO Facebook group or the ERAU CFI page would appreciate your posts more.
(or am I one of them.... oh God....)

There’s nothing wrong with senior FOs not upgrading. Sometimes life happens, some people aren’t ready, and some have no businesss in the left-seat.
As far as right seat Captains, let me paint it this way: If I’m a Pilot, I don’t pick up shifts as an Aircraft Dispatcher or Flight Attendant, so the company doesn’t have to hire more ADX or FAs.
Always do what your union says, no matter the cause, solidarity is very important in this industry.

It's the law of supply and demand. If they can't attract enough people to work here as pilots, they'll have to pay people more or somehow make people want to come. This gives our union incredible negotiating leverage to make all our lives better. Decreasing that lack of supply by flying in the right seat helps the company be able to say "we don't need to pay you more because we're doing fine staffing wise." Pay is a huge deal, especially if 95%+ of our pilots are based in two very expensive cities (LAX and SEA).
Since adding the pay bonus, it sounds like we're getting enough people in class to fill in for attrition. We'll see how long this lasts until the company needs to take another step with the Endeavor TA, or losing excitement after the initial offering of the bonus. By not taking the right seat time, it forces the company to hire more FOs. And if they reach the bottom of the barrel and can't find more people, they'll have to "pull more levers" as Bob has put it on the employee calls. Hopefully those levers will benefit the pilot group as a whole, not just new hires. But either way, more new hires means better quality of life for everyone as it helps the movement up the seniority list. And I hope that's something we can all get behind.

Any news of what exactly the Compass RTP will be? Heard it is approved, just waiting to hear what it is.

I think you are forgetting that a line holding FO can bid to fly more if they wish.
If they're on reserve and worried about building time so they can upgrade they will have plenty of time to build time while they what their turn on the seniority list.
If they were trying to fly more to make money the pay raise now makes it so 75 hours now pays what 85 used to - take that money and enjoy some days off for once.
If you want to split hairs, the real people hurting first officers are other first officers bypassing upgrade so they don't have to sit reserve as a captain. Report their names to the union.

Except it says January - March and then January - November in the same paragraph two sentences later...
But I'm guessing if it's just January - March, and if so, that's encouraging news about the staffing levels. Sounds like movement is going to be picking up again!

Hey home boy, how about this. I’ll make it really simple. If I see a captain sitting in my seat I will plaster your name over everything my little FO hands can get on to make you look like the “toad sucker” you are. Keep your a** in your seat. The union is 100% right on this one. And as I spent unfortunate time in that little place in Daytona everyone (including myself) hates. I can say with pretty high confidence you may be one of those little scrubs. If not, your personality fits right in with their arrogance.
GoHomeLeg....I am glad you're staying put on the left seat with your 1000+ PIC after that union e-mail, nevertheless....I have a question for you since I am curious -- why would you originally volunteer for right seat CA flying when it adds nothing to your bottom line? zero incentives. You are working on your days off for regular pay and logging SIC time. Why wouldn't you just pick up stuff from the CA open time and at least log PIC time?

Look I feel like I am beating a dead horse. Especially since I agree to not do right seat flying without union approval.
If the company told you right seat qualified captain's would allow them to upgrade more would you be ok with it? This is how other companies I have worked for do it. By giving the company carte blanche with right seat captain's it makes it so they are less likely to throttle upgrades with due to fears of not having reserve first officers. In fact they can upgrade so much that they don't need a single reserve FO and can cover all flying with Captains. The catch is they will have a rather lengthy list of reserve Captains. But would you rather be on reserve as an FO or as a Captain? Quality of life is the same but one pays more and is a choice.
So how will this help you as a reserve FO? You won't have to be picking up scraps to fly. You'll actually have a line and upgrade times will be shorter.

Talk about not seeing the big picture. The idea from a labor standpoint is you do not want to give the company a reason to under-staff the airline. It is in literally everyone's best interest to ensure that we are staffed with proper levels of first officers and captains.
Lets say you have an airline that requires you to have 100 pilots.
50 CA
50 FO
GoHomeLeg is running the pilots union so he signs them up for Right seat Qualified Captains.
Company sucks because it offers little pay and benefits. Cannot hire new FO's
CA Leave, FO leave..need to upgrade more and hire more to replace those moving on. Cannot attract or hire new FO's
OK how do we do this? We don't have FO's to replace upgrades. Oh wait, the Union allowed right seat qual.
60 CA
40 FO
Still a Problem. Not enough FO's to cover flying, but CA flying is covered. How can we cover both flying more?
70 CA
30FO
Now we are able to staff all CA flying and cover our FO flying with extra CA which can cover both.
Sorry 30 FO, we are covered. You can just stay as FO. Also have fun with that 30 FO lines to choose from. Oh btw CA that is now flying the ****ty FO line being paid as a CA. That kinda sucks, bet you wish you hadn't agreed to right seat qual.
I could exaggerate the effects more, but I think you get the point. having a lopsided staffing situation is bad for..the staff. Maybe it doesn't seem like a big deal now, and is voluntary; but when you are getting shoehorned into flying ****ty lines you don't want to because even though you're a CA, you are stuck doing an FO line, your tune might change.
