Compass fam, question:

Ending a trip on a deadhead from Canadia. I really don't want to go back to LAX. So can I just cancel DH, go through customs, go back through security and be good to go or am I missing something?

If you want to "jumpseat" or "non-rev" out of Canada, the easiest way to do it, list yourself on the release. Get a "security document" though before going through security and customs. The gate agents almost denied boarding to a FA on the release when we operated YYC-SEA because she did not check in and have a security document before she passed security.

Won't you have to pay taxes to nonrev out of Canada?

If you go the listing on release route, Call dispatch/scheduling too... you'll need to ask them about APIS and the crew listing for the general declaration, it's a huge cluster...ask any LCA doing a Line Check to Canada

Problem is that it's an OO flight to SEA...so no release stuff possible. Dang I didn't even consider taxes...guess it's plan B back to LA... Thanks for the help guys. What an annoying way to end a trip.

I wonder if scheduling can just change your DH to Seattle. I mean, at least it's a base.

Hahahaha, that's funny...the company will violate the contract all day long but you think they'll let us do it knowingly? I've tried doing that so many times and been told to go pound sand.

Yet the CPZ Crew Planner is more like a dead bee. Can’t get anything right. He must’ve gotten a lot of “participation awards” as a kid
