You are full when you hit the guarantee, meaning they can't assign you anything else. But, you can still yellow slip up to the pick up limit (ALV+15).

And you can still green slip to fly over your X days. Don't be crying about your lack of progression or lack of quality of life if you are flying over the reserve guarantee though, you did that to yourself.

Let me get this straight......is ok for a line holder to fly up to the pickup limit but it's not ok for a reserve? Got it.

What crappy contract? Most would say that the pilot group is pretty happy with the current contract.
And while I fly less than most (60 hours in May) I'm not sure what the ideal is. I mean if we all were only allowed to fly 60 hours that would create a lot of jobs. However I'm guessing that such a limitation would be received very poorly.
So somewhere between 60 hours and FAR limits is the ideal monthly max. What is it? Who determines it? The only thing that I can state is that it is somewhere between 60 hours and FAR limits!

Beauty of this job is there is something for everyone. Some pilots won't ever fly a narrowbody for Delta again by choice once they hit the widebodies. Some pilots see their Nirvana playing the drop entire sked GS/WS 120 credit for 40 block game on the 88/90 for the rest of their career.
