There is a dearth of open trips in NYC, so the theory that it could end up being a "great deal" for those affected is not a correct one. Every trip contains multiple 4-leg days. Think about it...the most junior line holder didn't want these trips.

There is also plenty of reserve coverage on the B side, so the rolling thunder theory is also shot. There has also been a dearth of green slips in the category since late December. No one has been able to roll thunder.

Lastly, one could roll the dice on a blank line and hope that good trips magically appear. Yes, many line holders do this as a matter of course. The difference is they choose to do so. And they don't usually have to deal with 90+ other pilots hoping to do the same.

You can keep trying, but this is still not a good deal for anyone, at least in NYC. It's probably not a good deal for the company either, as they now have shortfalls in all of the categories into which these stuck Mad Dog pilots were to be gained.

Now that we've sufficiently land-mined your rainbows/unicorns, when are we going to get better DH language??

They will be able to WS all the ATL trips they want. A quick look at M88b trip coverage in NYC does not match a shortage. Covering a average of about 5 trips a day most for the next day so plenty to pick from. Even Green slips on some days.

So out-of-base white slips are a good deal now? And how does "green slips on some days" correlate to rolling thunder? Look at the reserve availability for 31 Aug NYC M88B. There will be no rolling thunder there.

No rolling thunder but no problem for a guy with a blank regular line to build a nice schedule. How many NY guys had their training cancelled. Seems like if NYC is fat the answer would be none.

Sailing are you always this clueless? It was the nyc guys that had theirs canceled. It was all the displacement training. You are just as bad as the hardcore dpa crowd just in the opposite direction.

Dude, you're like Baghdad Bob. I'm going to start calling you Atlanta Al. Atlanta Al, there are 13 trips in NYC M88B open time. There are about three that aren't absolute garbage, hardly enough to fill up a line. So what is the good part about this arrangement again? And as was just pointed out, 100% of NYC M88 pilots' training has been cancelled moving forward, so you obviously don't have a very tight grip on the specifics of this situation. Keep babbling if you like, your posts aren't surprising anyone.

That would work if they are in the top 2% or so. The guys that drop their lines live on that stuff. Those trips dont flow very far down.

Those guys got hosed

Take a look at the daily trip coverage for NYC for the last 30 days. Post what you find and what could have been picked up.
Damn the company for keeping more 88's flying and needing more pilots! Maybe you would be happier if they parked them all tomorrow.

I randomly looked through the daily trip coverage for the last 30 days. They will have zero issues getting a full month with decent trips.

How about since Friday afternoon when the training cancellations were announced? Did you miss the part about 13 trips in open time? By the way, no straight pickups on the NYC M88B swap board. Keep rolling, Al.
