Where will the displaced 88 folks go?

For those of you new guys hoping to avoid the -88, dont get your hopes too high. The sheer volume of training in this place means one or two or a hundred unnecessary or ill-advised training cycles are unlikely even to be noticed in the grand scheme. On the upside, if you get it, you'll get an all expense paid vacation to Virginia Avenue Honeymoon for you and your new 717, 737, 320, CS100, or 7ER!

In all honesty, they try to avoid training churn as much as they can, but contractual limits and changes beyond the control of crew planning means sometimes junior folks get bumped around when a fleet goes away. Especially one as iconic as the maddog.

I've heard a surprising number of people say they really want the 88 out of indoc. From what I've gathered for most it's a sacrifice they're willing to make to get to ATL immediately. Personally, I don't think I'm willing to make that sacrifice. Drops being what they have been lately, I couldn't imagine they would turn off the pipeline so rapidly as to have no 88 drops by May.
Assuming its the base you want, don't buy the mongering about it not being fancy glass enough. That literally makes zero difference in your QOL, even your at work QOL.

I realize someone has to be the plug...I’m much happier being on another fleet now
