Just got on a real computer. Its showing it split from a SLC rotation

MiCrew was/is showing me with three different Captains from 3 bases over the course of the trip.

If I understand it correctly, it's only applicable on duty periods with one leg. EG...DTW-ATH but not DTW-ATL-ORD-ATL. An example was given...crew signs in for DTW-AMS but mx just found an issue and it's going to be hours before it's fixed. They would get 5 hours of pay if they extend their duty day to wait around for it to be fixed then fly the leg into an extension. A buddy said he's also heard of guys getting it on redeyes from HI or AK. Maybe a UAL guy will come along and correct me.

Bottom line, their rules wouldn't impact a vast majority of our extensions, and I wouldn't want to entice guys to extend because of the money...because they will. Along the same lines, I hope we never have the ability to sell our vacation (any more than we already can).

After further evaluation you are absolutely correct. I agree that pursuing premium pay for domestic extensions would present a safety issue.

The multiple captain thing isn’t exclusive to reserve anymore. I have/had that same thing for a PBS awarded rotation in each of the last few months. It’s one of their novel ways of balancing staffing throughout the system.

It’s a nice trip actually since I like long trips.

I agree! I miss the 6 day trips out of EWR already!

More importantly... how was the show?!

Show was awesome.

Yes, that is Bruce with a flamethrower during Flight of Icarus. And a full motion Spitfire during Aces High. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...35a2a6f53e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5773fe517c.jpg

Yes, at United add pay for extensions is only for duty periods with one leg. We do not get add pay in domestic ops (generally), I dont know of too many pilots that extend in that situation. Nothing good ever happens after that. One difference here is we have to opt in to extend. We get an acars message asking if we are able to extend- it is up to us to say yes or no. If no- off to the hotel.
