I saw the screenshot... DELTA's CFO's words are being misrepresented by the poster! Watch here for yourself...

He said, and I'm paraphrasing, that he "hopes" that the headcount changes can be made through voluntary programs.
Overall though, it seems like Delta is being pretty smart and should be able to keep the airline solvent. They're just not planning on a significant rapid recovery and are planning on operating in a very low yield environment over the next few years.

So my friend has found himself in an odd predicament. He completed Indoc and training earlier this year before going on long term mil leave. He had been on long term mil leave from his previous regional before Indoc. Apparently they did not process his resignation letter and he just discovered that he was still on their books.
1. What could happen to him? Does Delta check this type of stuff? He hasn’t turned a wheel for his old regional Since well before being hired here. He intends to re-submit his resignation letter immediately to fix it.
2. out of curiosity, since he’s on long term mil leave, would it be smarter for him to hold on to the regional gig through October to see how furloughs rollout? Not sure of what actions could be taken since he’s on mil leave?

I went to school with PJ for four years. He was then, and really is a 50lb brain. Personally, I'm glad he is back on the team. This isn't about where we are now (and the whole world is in the same place), it's where we come out in the wash. I can't speak to the other members of the team, but PJ is the one that we want on the team now. Dream team: could we get RA back for a while?

To help answer the LOA to furlough question, I found this on the LOA page on dlnet:
“ In the event of a reduction in force, Delta employees on one of these approved voluntary unpaid leaves of absence will be treated as if they were active for this purpose.”
So to me (a Non Educated Delinquent), sounds like if you take a leave and then get F’d, you will get the furlough pay and bennies, duration TBD.
