Pilots in the closing categories probably (for the most part) only have MDs in. If their category remains open, they could miss out on AE and VD opportunities.

There will be riots if they try to half award this bid and leave categories open that were slated to close. It totally affects how people submitted their bids. If the rumors are true, they’d have to rebid IMO.

The rumors could be false and we get the results tomorrow. Who knows? There’s no communication.
Don't know they will care, but good points.

Agree, that would be the 12 part of the 12-14 categories they would have to forego to have a chance in h*** of making an executable plan.

I agree the common logic would be to stay in base, however the ER guys I know typically have a near-fanboy obsession with that airplane so it wouldn’t surprise me to see many commute to stay on it.

All valid points, however, based on DALs propensity to change their minds, I did bid many of the closing categories/bases. I guess maybe I just view my bid preferences different than others. As soon as I get awarded a category, I enter a standing AE (with % caveats) bid and input a robust displacement bid. In fact, I barely had to tweak my displacement bid that was input over 3 years ago when I was awarded my current fleet. I didn't even bother to remove the closing fleets/base as referenced above.

All that said, I agree with you that there would (should) have to be a rebid if they decided to change their minds of closing/opening bases/fleets.

Not sure why everyone is surprised by the "lack" of communication. In my short 6 years here, it's pretty much always been a mystery when the results will be published.

And the MSP717s will be gone since they haven’t been fully stood up

If the Company doesn't close each and every category it said it was on this bid, it will trigger a rebid. If the Company refuses to do this it will create a slam dunk grievance by the Union. I really don't think the Company wants to open that can of worms at this point.

if the rumor is true, I would expect the Company to cancel this CF and post a more reasonable (if there can be one) displacement bid.

Well idk. They could execute the whole enchilada. Then hav subsequent bids to make adjustments.

I think category has been closed before. Only to be reopened on another bid.

‘That is certainly a possibility. I was speaking to them just arbitrarily deciding NOT to close one of the posted category closings and still following thru with an award on this particular displacement bid.

Well they have right to mitigate process to some degree. As allowed id expect that to happen on this award.

Im wondering if a category/base is closed if it impacts reinstatement rights if on subsequent bid the closed seat is reopened?

If it does conspiracy says they are closing some categories only to reopen on another bid...all AE positions. This would flush and reset the category.

Generally they are thinking 2 or 3 moves ahead and I cant see it but they may.

They can mitigate it, yes. Not closing a category that everyone based their bid on since it wasn’t available goes waaay beyond mitigation. I think it would be a slam dunk grievance win........for the Union.

I’d be super frustrated if they didn’t close the bases they said they were going to, as I input my bids based off the information they gave us. I’m with Denny: I think it’d be grieved immediately by the union.
