14600-2400=12,200 pilots left, was my takeaway. BS has previously said 12.0-12.1k total pilots so the rumored number does match that (as you’d expect any good rumor to do!)
I sincerely hope all of this is wrong and everyone keeps their job, and as few MD as possible.

From: 7ER B...whatever that means.
That's the general feeling based on the fact that it would allow them to start converting people to UNA ASAP (July vs August). But I've seen nothing official, just speculation. Trouble is, it makes sense from a logic and cost perspective, so they probably won't do it that way.

Soooo, they din't want to offer SIL's, they didn't want to mitigate cascading training events with an early retirement, and they wanted to close 18 categories, including the pinnacle of them all.
Talk about biting off more than they can chew... Almost makes me laugh, if it wasn't so serious.
IF this is all true, the only way they can make all this happen is to partially scale back what they are closing. Either the 777 stays, or 12-14 of the remaining closures don't happen.

Long time lurker and first post, so I can’t give this a new thread, but I believe it certainly warrants one.
7:21am Reuters put out an article in the business news section titled: “U.S. firms shield CEO pay as pandemic hits workers, investors”
It reports: “Reuters found 75 other companies that disclosed they are considering changes to executive pay plans in light of the pandemic's impact on their businesses. Among them are ridesharing giant Uber Technologies Inc, hotel operator Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc, carrier Delta Air Lines Inc, satellite radio company Sirius XM Holdings Inc and Thomson Reuters Corp, the parent company of Reuters News.
It goes on to say: “Delta said in a filing that its performance measures no longer suited the “current reality” and that the value of executives’ incentive pay had declined by more than half in the pandemic.”
As one starting my 5th year here and near the danger zone, I want to say since declining pay seems to not suit our executives, it also doesn’t suit me.
Full pay until furlough day with no gives!

Pilots in the closing categories probably (for the most part) only have MDs in. If their category remains open, they could miss out on AE and VD opportunities.
There will be riots if they try to half award this bid and leave categories open that were slated to close. It totally affects how people submitted their bids. If the rumors are true, they’d have to rebid IMO.
The rumors could be false and we get the results tomorrow. Who knows? There’s no communication.
