I'm at the layover. It's a resort. It's dead. Dead.

The 32+ cruise ships we flew over at anchor have been there since April 2020. Skeleton crews on them to keep the systems functional. How many more around the globe?

Add in the new regime and there goes the economy.

Just print trillions, yeah it'll get better.

We are a long way off. As a country We mucked this response up hugely and we will pay the price for decades.

If it wasn't for 1806 taking the VEOP we'd be furloughing. Not out of this yet. Last report I saw we are still burning 10+ million a day

I don’t remember the last time the entire world went on pause for a year, so I never expected the economy to be pretty through this. However, If you want to believe that air travel is dead forever that’s on you. I maintain it will come back with the rest of the economy, and I’ve put my money where my mouth is in terms of investing. Yesterday we hit 58% of 2019 numbers. Google trends also shows rising searches for all things travel related. The trend is our friend right now and it’s only February. Summer will be better. Revisit this comment in 6 months if you think I am wrong about a better 2021. Does it feel good walking around with a black cloud over your head all the time? And where exactly did I say we were better off? I just don’t believe at all that aviation is toast as you do. The world will reconnect, life will go on, just as it has after every world event (WW1, WW2, etc.) If there is $ to be made or places to see, people will travel.

Settle down Timmy. Things(domestically) will be normal by the Fall, if not by Summer. We are on the cusp of unleashing the largest pent up demand in modern history. Delta Network is analytically driven and ultra conservative. The fact that we are bringing everybody back and ringing alarm bells in training(double crewing E periods lol) is a clear sign of where the economy is going. Oh and Delta will be cash flow positive shortly. Spring or Summer quarter Fall at the latest.

Of course resorts are dead, the test retirement squashed travel. That is a horrible comparison. Just because you guys don't have social lives and don't understand people are dying to leave their homes and be social again, doesn't mean this thing is gonna take 10+ years to recover from. Making comparisons to this during February when nothing is really open and you can't travel to a resort or home without a negative test or cruise ship? Seriously? Grasping at the last straws in your bag of doom. Lol.

I live in downtown slc, not sure where you guys live, but life is busy and Friday and Saturday nights restaurants and bars are flooded with people. Same with Dave & busters or other activity locations. I find it funny airline forum pilots talking about when social norms will resume, when we all know 50%+ of theae forums don't have social people in it whatsoever. That's th truth no one wants to talk about.

Let's not beat around the bush though, we all know why you're saying this. Because you wanted to get a jab in at saying everyone is a sheep under our current regime and he will never let us leave our homes again. Government has the power now, we are DOOMED.

We are at 20% of population vaccinated and the airports are getting crowded. LAX was a complete zoo the other day. Summer is going to be a bananas. I'm trying to hit Cabo in March before things get out of hand. The first post COVID US cruise is probably going to have a Woodstock atmosphere

yup and the fact we had 1 million people flying in a day well after Christmas.... To do what? Most of the country is still not open but people are desperate to still travel and have their life back. If travel was 60k-200k during all of this I'd be more alarmed but the numbers have been actually not bad, if anything good. Once things open in the mass, it should spike and trends will only get better. Also I hit Cabo in January right before the testing restrictions... My resort was still busy. Not as busy as normal, but busy.

From the forum rules that you agreed to.

Now back to the AE....whats everyone's best guess.....FO only positions offered or Capt spots too?
