That attitude is exactly why scope was given away in the first place. We would accept a staple.

Scope never should have been given away in the first place. Go read my other posts, I want tighter scope. I'm not eager about supporting our TA BECAUSE it is tied to scope.

This doesn't mean we need to accept being subjugated to the bottom of a combined list when many of our pilots have given decades of service to Northwest and now Delta. I'm not asking for DOH or relative seniority since that would be completely unreasonable but a staple would not be fair either.

Wow. Our little forum here attracts remarkable opinions.

Wait, what does that say about me?

I don't have a dog in this fight, but what is it that you find so objectionable about a staple? It guarantees you a spot at DAL. So I can see only one of two things to look at here. 1 is that if you are stapled, your seniority is fixed where it is now vis a vis your regional comrades. 2 is that if you are NOT stapled, you take your chances in the open market, and maybe think you can be hired ahead of some of those that are currently senior to you at your current place of employment.

In any 'merger' situation, you ain't coming in ahead of any current DAL pilot. That's a fantasy that you will realize about the same time they offer me a trip to Mars.

If management decides to merge the two airlines 9E would be very foolish to accept a staple. The worst they can do is a staple so why would you not go to arbitration especially given the factors the arbitrator will use.

why would a staple not look reasonable infront of an arbitrator?
-every pilot currently on the DAL list makes more per hour than every pilot on the 9E list (I think the hourly rate for a year 2 717B is about the same as a maxed out CRJ-900 CA, but that 717B wins once you include 401K)
-hundreds of pilots have left 9E for DAL, how many have done the opposite?
-There has been a defined career progression from endeavor to the bottom of DAL for years, that is an expectation. Why should a pilot hired from endeavor who was hired at DAL a year ago and now making more than his former co workers go behind them in a seniority integration?

while the press to test has never been done on a ML/RJ merger, I would entirely expect either a staple or very long fences.

The worst they can do is shut Endeavor down, lay off all the pilots, and move the airframes to Delta. You don't think Delta has brought on new fleets before? They could bring the planes over gradually. Comair, Compass, ACA, etc. all had their entire seniority list out of work. It's been done before. I would gladly accept a staple if I was at Endeavor. How many pilots does Endeavor have? 1500? A year and a half of hiring at Delta. Had Comair accepted a staple, the Comair pilots would have been Delta pilots.

DALPA has more money, therefore more power than Endeavor ALPA.

Why are we even getting heated over a staple that isn’t going to happen? I’d argue Delta is more opposed to a staple/integration than any pilot would be, from a cost perspective. Then you have the MX, FAs etc, far reaching beyond just pilot matters. Flow gets pilots off the top, helps recruitment, and is limited to one work group. Easy and tidy for them.

DOH with a 20 year fence then. At 64 you can fly 350A. Career expectations. You can have my sonority number if you stay on the 76 seat and less fleets until retirement.

DOH with a 20 year fence... hmm what does that remind me of. EDV pilots will be the new Green Book?
