A staple is illegal, so give up on that, unless McCaskill-Bond is different than I remember. Also the company wouldn't be wild at the staple because the pilots would come over with their longevity (30 year edv becomes 30 year delta pay) so you'd have to fight them on it.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Nobody is seriously talking merger whatsoever, but the forums here are alight with it. It’s pilot centric thinking, not considering every other moving pieces.

There is zero need to consider what that troll is saying. The Delta PWA specifically describes the filling of seats. In the event of an arbitrated seniority grab, the 9E captains, would at best be slotted in with the 717 FO's. We would essentially get a boost of ~100 numbers, on a 15,000 pilot list, for a 15+ year fence. It would be the most dumb@ss move in the history of aviation.

We are entitled to a merger under ALPA merger policy where we would given better seniority than being stapled at the bottom of the list. There would not be 15 year fences like Mesabah is suggesting, possibly 5 years at the most to protect our senior captains from being displaced by some junior Delta FOs.

The PWA states there is a 15 year fence? I’d be okay with a 5 year fence. 9E will not merge with Delta.

We should be talking merger and have ALL Delta flying on one integrated seniority list as dictated by ALPA merger policy. Then as SkyPest and Republic CPAs come to an end they should not be renewed.

It doesn't say that anywhere.

A merger is a pipe dream but it is a far better idea than the flow and contract extension we are having forced on us by the MEC

Nope, The merger would simply mean Delta could move the planes somewhere else, Skywest or perhaps a brand new startup regional. You don't seem to understand how any of this works.
