In a scenario where you're bidding for scraps, is it better to:
-bid for a plane that's in your base even if you're commuting transcon until effective AE or
-bid for a plane where your commute is ~2h from the get go but your preferred base doesn't have that type? (1yr seat lock)

move you. If you go with the second one, not only do you have to wait for the AE to come around, then open, then close but then you’re again waiting up to 120 or maybe even 365 days to go to training for another 6 weeks.

I’d go with door number one. I think a transcon commute suuuucks, but the upcoming AE has a 120 day window. That’s the MAX they can wait to

Door B, as mentioned above, you are looking at possibly 1.5-2 years before you can move with a new type. Plus, never trust rumors about a new type opening in a base until the AE actually drops (LAX 220 is a recent example)

I heard a rumor that there are no-shows for Delta First Officer classes. Any truth to this?
I live in Atlanta, was getting my medical and this came from a Delta pilot. Specifically he stated that around 30% of classes are empty and that a lot of pilots were leaving for FedEx due to their pension.
