I’ll believe this when I hear it from HK or the General.
JonNYC per a new 40 359 order (that’ll be 140 firm+option WB’s plus the 79 new WB’s delivered between 2017-2025 + 4 remaining 359’s that’s 223 new-gen WB’s after old 330/764 retirements into 2030’s). They won’t repeat 23M7 cost debacle. They’re going to staff the pilot group. We already see that will accelerated CJO pool clearing and increase in interview classes. Also, anticipated 737Max certification nearing its end + 35K deliveries on top of increased 220 deliveries and 321’s.

Just for fun, hypothetically, let's say DTW 330 or 350 was offered to a March New Hire, just how bad would their QOL be and for how long?
QOL depends on your life situation at home.

If you don't have kids and can peacefully nap when you get home, don't need weekends off and live in base, WBB is a sweet deal even as the plug. Even on reserve you won't get abused like the narrowbody peeps. Just be ready to have slower seniority progression than even a narrowbody captain category.

You don't have to worry about that, because it won't happen.

That being said, be prepared to be the plug for a very long time. The last person to get WB out of indoc has been the plug for 4 years now. And that was when things were moving fast.

Ed, did you get a CJO here at DAL?

I recall answering some of your questions in the "Interview Suit" thread you started like back in October - ish timeframe.

Probably still has a better schedule/QOL than his NB classmates.

You're a self admitted troll in your mid 20s who got hired in late 2023, you have no idea what you're talking about. Your brain isn't even fully developed.

I don't even want to talk about it, because it will perpetuate old rumors and disappointments. WB to a NH will not happen again in the foreseeable future. Period. Dot. It is consistently taking in the low 70's% to hold it for almost 3 years now.

But good luck, and welcome aboard.

Awee Gutter does the extra x51 359 and 339 order make you upset (guess I was wrong since I said x40)? Thats now x151 787/359/339 firm+options. 79 received between 2017-2025. Total of 230 wide-bodies after all 764 and 330ceo retirements. That’s bigger than United’s plans (x150 787 + 50 options, but they have many more replacements). Already parking old PW 777’s because they are being driven into a mechanical corner and plenty of old 764’s.

As I’ve been saying. The next decade at Delta will be very global and ambitious. The WB fleet will be the largest it’s even been in its history with both 787’s, 359’s, and 339’s. Love to see the haters watch Delta expand beyond “JV reliance yadada”. Get that old trash out of here. Amazing time to be starting at Delta.

Must admit you’ve definitely gotten these right.

I’ve totally reframed my mental approach and am excited as my re-application window approaches. Can’t wait to be a Delta pilot if I should be that lucky.
