  • JFK-KEW $12
  • LGA-KEW $15
  • JFK-LGA $18

Transportation costs are part of the NYC experience. Try and find the silver lining, junior base, faster seniority gain (typically) and increased GS opportunities.
I was confirming with posts above guys saying the KewCab and Voyager were costing 20$ a ride. I'm not posting to vent, posting to make sure I'm not missing anything. Going to learn the train system for JFK tomorrow thankfully. But I'm going back to training Nov now so that's certainly good. I'm brand new to NYC so I want to make sure I'm not screwing up anything.

Back in the day, how I used to get from LGA-EWR.

Walk from crash pad to USAir shuttle terminal
JS LGA-BOS
Walk to Continental terminal
JS BOS-EWR.
Total time in transit, 4hrs
Cost: free
Usually a seat in First so well rested too.
Disclaimer - you need about 8hrs notice and reasonable weather to pull it off (no ground stops.)
Note, this was back when there were hourly flights in both directions. Not sure if that still exists today

If I commute in on AA and arrive at the B terminal, is there an easier way to get to C other than taking the two bus transfer ? Is it possible to walk between them?

Edit: This is for LGA

scratch that, I saw a sign saying “construction area, no entry” on Saturday at the end of C. Dunno if temporary. It’s possible to cross the highway and go that way. Not great but not terrible

Lots of good info. A few follow-up questions. Hopefully I didn't miss it here.

Primarily asking in regards to JFK since I imagine most trips fly out of there:

1. For those living in the area, where do you live? Northern NJ/Southern NY? Connecticut? Which towns, specifically?

2. I tried researching, but is there a public transportation option via train from these northern areas? All I'm seeing here is essentially subway access from downtown NYC to JFK, but you'd have to drive/Uber to those stations first.

Thanks!

There’s no good way to take the train from north of the city to JFK. Getting to JFK is much easier from Long Island with the LIRR to Jamaica connecting to the Airtrain.

Notes, Warnings and Cautions:-Airtrain 10 ride passes expire 30 days from purchase, not the date printed on the MetroCard.
