I got the "Fix it" email on Feb 1st almost right away for one minor correction after I sent in the application and then the 2 emails on the 14th and 15th. I've got 7 days or so to take the online assessment. Pretty nervous about it so current plan is to throw myself at the Cut-e test stuff and just hope the assessment goes well.

i used RST , 3 days of practice and took it. Passed

Here is a question for the rest of the group.

I have no sense of fashion, so would anyone have reasons why to wear a black vs navy suit for the interview?

Yea don’t over think the suit part, any good fitting relatively modern suit will do just fine. Guy in my group a few years back wore a purple suit and got hired.

I am also fashion-challenged. I googled around and there’s some good charts out there showing what colors match best. What color tie for shirt, what color socks for the shoes you choose.

Easiest thing is to go to a reputable men's store and get fitted for a jacket, shirt and pants. Ask the person there what socks/shoes/belt/tie color to wear. Should be about $250 and up depending on how good of quality you want. If you are spending money on new shoes, (black) will get you ahead when you get the cjo.....

If you don't want that, take your measurements (with a fashion conscious friend) to Macy's/JCPenney, etc and start with those sizes off the rack..... But you really will only save about 100 bucks......
In the end, a good fitting suit will have positive results. Do you want to be the odd ball in the room with a random article/color of clothing that stands out?. Or do you want to look like a professional that can fall into line and look like 12000 other pilots? Most suits were black, gray or Navy. All colors of conservative ties, black shoes with black pants and black belt, or brown shoes with navy pants and brown belt, I was told no black and brown together by both the men's wearhouse people and significant other....... This is not the time to show off your edgy style preference.

I truly appreciate this write up. Lots to think about.

Default Assessment help

After pouring through all 164 pages of this post, and compiling all the info on the Delta Assesment in a separate document - I glean this:

Not nearly as worried about the Sudoko, Match Games...etc - as I am the personality test.

There are some YouTube videos by Aon on the ADEPT 15, but not really that helpful.

My question is this: Career Takeoff has a $335 course that preps for the “Delta and FedEx MMPI”. Is it a valuable tool for the online assessment (that happens BEFORE the interview)?

I believe this preps for the test with the shrink in Atlanta. But it’s not clear.

Below is the link to what I’m going to purchase. What’s another $335 toward the cause of a $7M retirement (or 6 months of seniority).

Thanks.

just get RST. It’s $450 and is valid indefinitely I think? Includes the games, mmpi and interview prep.

It also includes the same information for like 8-9 other major airlines

Have already purchased RST - did not see any personality prep on there.

Default Assessment Failure & Questions

Just wondering if an assessment failure is common. I took it about a week ago and was not successful. I feel like I did pretty good on the games and the personality test was ok. I just feel stupid. Messed up the opportunity of a lifetime by failing this simple assessment.

The email said I am eligible in 6 months again but what exactly does that mean. Does it mean they email me 6 months from the date another assessment or does it just mean I go back into the pile of thousands of apps again only waiting to be pulled?

6 months is alot of time to burn in this environment, so I’m wondering if I should fire up my apps to other majors or if I have a shot again to take this assessment within a reasonable timeframe.

"8 sections

Spatial orientation (ndb/rmi in relation to aircraft-its timed for 3 mins)

Reaction speed (click when two shapes match each other)

Deductive logical thinking (sudoku style—which shape should be in which position on the grid)

Monitoring ability(how many dots are moving around in a circle)

Multi-tasking capability (3 tasks at once—-adding/subtracting, determining if shapes are duplicated in a row of other shapes, and a slider like the game asteroids where you avoid objects to prevent a crash)

Auditory comprehension (audio clips of clearance read backs or approach clearances and you have to choose the correct answer from 3 multiple choice options)

Complex control (use your mouse to guide your plane through a series of rotating circles)

Work-related behavior(standard personality test)"

So going through the Cut-e test stuff now. On a lot of these courses there are 3 levels. Easy, Medium, and Hard. Any particular level of proficiency I should be shooting for in regards to the Delta Online Assessment?
