Maybe it can, maybe it can't. I can't control it. I will say that UAL is hiring 48 per week...don't know if they can keep up that torrid pace. At least management seems to recognize the dilemma, which is at least a step in the right direction.. The rapid rise in seniority % is a huge benefit for those close to the bottom. Depending on a/c purchases, only marginally beneficial for more senior types.

United didn’t sideline 1700 pilots after retiring 1900 others thus forcing a colossal training churn they they only started to work on un doing after demand was already back…

It’s not that we can’t train 200/month, it’s that we cant do that on top of retraining the rest of the airline to be where they should have been 9 months ago.

the reason United is able to hire so much now is they didn’t waste all their training resources trying to keep an FA union off property. But ya know, optics and all

Its all relative. If you were in the left seat of something you liked when age 65 kicked in you got a windfall. It’s an airline career. Craziness is guaranteed.

So your saying rapid hiring isn't a good thing? Or you don't believe it is more beneficial for the lowest seniority guy compared to senior guys?. Maybe I'm imparting fallacious ideas to my kids. A year ago furloughs were the biggest concern for them .The massive hiring hiring doesn't affect me at all. It's a continuum. I don't think I was talking about age 65...but you can have at it if that's your flavor of the day to be upset about.

movement off the top has a greater affect on senior folks, adding to the bottom has a greater affect on jr guys. Both are good for both groups, but they are felt differently.

Well since we are in the Delta new hiring thread, I was attempting to talk about....well....in 2 words....new hiring... and its impact on those newly hired.

I'm prolly in agreement with the age 65 thing and the retirement thing,, but not my baliwick.

Do they offer classes before background checks are complete or will they get you in the first available class?
