This is correct*

*Within days of availability and time grouping.

As was said above, it’s not “everyone” getting assigned 2 SC, it’s everyone within your days availability group, regardless of raw bucket, who is also legal for the SC period. So let’s say you’re in the 3 day bucket with 2 SC and there are 10 people junior to you also on the 3 day bucket with 0 SC. But wait, you started LC a day prior and all those 10 people are starting their first day, so not legal for any assignment before 1000. Bam, you get hit with 0600 SC and it’s a valid assignment.

So a for instance a 4 day availability group and a raw group number? The other pilot with only 1 day is SC is in a higher number raw group, guessing that’s where they can get away with this?

Also, it’s a night shift short call from 2000-0500 next day. I assume that’s one shift or would it count as 2 additional as it spread over 2 calendar days?

Raw doesn't matter. They often get it wrong. Call up and ask why the other person wasn't assigned one.

Also look at their schedule. The reserve list doesn't tell the whole story. Example, training counts as a reserve day but it's illegal to schedule them after midnight.

I am in 4 day bucket, with 2 completed short calls. There is a guy behind me on long call now, only 1 SC credit but has a higher raw group. Seems like then he should get the short call tomorrow unless they’ve given number 2 to him tomorrow and therefore can give me number 3 tomorrow.

Thanks fellas. I’m going to give them a call but wanted a little background info before I blindly did anything.

lol just be ware, I called them on it once when they skipped one person and gave me SC improperly. They fixed it by just giving the skipped guy SC too 😂

The "background" you seek is found at §23.1.f.
