Serial rsv bidders.. first month rsv in a long time, with the implementation of bidding sc periods a month prior does anyone have a strategy to get short call credits while flying as little as possible? Or do you juat wait till the bid month to bid those as they are posted? I was thinking maybe bidding short call the second day of my rsv stretches? Just trying to avoid getting used on rsv days. I have heard of people who consistently only fly 7-10 or less days a month with a reserve line and just was hoping for some insight on how to increase my chances achieving that
YS SC on the other hand, can situationally be very useful. But that has been true for awhile.

The company auto assigned a 30 hour rest period at the end of my long call block that extends into my first X day even although I no longer have any more RES days this month.
This limits my ability to pick something up on my first X day. Why do they do that and can I have them remove the rest that goes into my X day?

So unless you actually have a 30/168 issue, I don't think the preemptive rest should prevent you from getting that GS over the XX day.

No it doesn't....I've had scheds drop an early 30hrs of rest after being on call for only two days....they wanted to make sure they could use me over Xmas which is when I was due for 30/168 after having 7 days of on call.....I put in for GS in and OOB, snagged one, and it dropped the rest.

I’m trying to move an x-day or two. The coverage for the days in question look good in the sense that I’m wanting to move my x-days to worse coverage. I’m thinking the move should have gone through but I’m getting the message “capped reserve days”. Is this because I’m trying to move golden x-days? If so, how do I “un-golden” them? I really don’t understand the whole “golden” thing other than they’ll try “extra hard” not to work you into a day off

I might be misunderstanding you, but you need to move the X days to days with better coverage which would put you on call on the worse days.
