Not defending someone taking pictures of women's behind, that’s absolutely ridiculous, I’m embarrassed as a pilot watching it.

That is not sexual harassment though. Sexual harassment is an incident when I was employed by SkyWest a few years back. While on a Delta mainline Deadhead one of your gay flight attendants asked what I wanted to drink by grabbing my leg in a “caressing” manner. The women on the window seat saw everything and did not grab her phone to record the incident, she actually laughed over it. Did I report it? Hell no, didn’t want to blow my chances being hired by Delta upsetting a few in HR. They take those type of reports and twist it around to make you the bad guy.

both of those situations are sexual harassment. I’m sorry you felt a power imbalance that made you uncomfortable reporting it. You shouldn’t feel afraid to report bad behavior.

Yikes.

This is bad, regardless of his employer. I hope he gets the help he needs.

As evidenced by his trying (unsuccessfully) to conceal what he was doing by hiding his phone/camera behind the Kindle/whatever…he knew what he was doing was wrong, or at the very least grossly inappropriate.

No, believe it or not you arent that superior to us. The whole thread is about this guy being nasty. But if you can disconnect yourself from emotion for a second, which means your gonna have to stop doing what they do on the view (most emotion = right) and woke bs ( outrage is righteousness) then you can understand a guy asking "why would you be fired". This is missed by most pilots. In uniform you are a target. Picketing in uniform for instance, your hurting the brand, but youve got legal protection. You goto chickfila in uniform and order something from the "antigay" place are you saying something now in stupid woke world?

You wanna creep on a woman, get internet famous, great. I will say as a young man woking tables worse was done and said to our waitresses and hostesses and no one lost any job. Worse case if youd do that 3 or 4 of us would pay your check and box ur **** up in front of you and walk you out. We didnt have a manager at a small place. That guy ddint lose his job but now he might. So how do we know we know.

this isnt the book 1984 pg 2-5 where we killed the lawyers and everyone JUST KNOWS the rules, which doesnt mean anything. It just means be on ur best behavior or else. In uniform, be on your best uniform or else. When your not working get out of it. The company has wide leeway to can you when ur in uniform not flying airplanes. This guy will probably get his job back and he'll never do it again. Hell still be paying lawyer bills and that woman for the next 20 years and thats if his wife doesnt leave him... But to the guy asking the question how does this someday effect him, it probably wont. Dont. Wear. The. Uniform.

If thet FA in the voyeuristic pic weighed 300 pounds would everybody be losing their minds?

Should he be fired if he says..."Looked like she had visible ink and I was documenting it to report"

....or..."shoes were out of reg, I was documenting it"...
...or...." I liked the shoes and was taking a pic so that I could research it to buy for my wife".

There certainly seems to be a whole lot of wanna be management types here. How about we let to system work the problem. His behavior is "scary" as is people's readiness to fire him with no due process. Both sides show a lack of wokeness and/or loss of situational awareness.

I am amazed that people log into an anonymous forum and waste time with pontification amongst strangers. I understand this forum, it is a source of information for new hires that want in, and we are in contract negotiations. This forum provides an unofficial direct link to management types when we want to call out their BS vs calling the CPO or filing and FCR with our name attached to it. It is also a great place to exchange ideas, events and ways to maneuver the contract. Outside of that, what is the point.

Thread should be closed.

You’ve got to be kidding? The help he needs? How can anyone defend this? “Well, it’s not in the PWA!” GMAFB. Sometimes a turd is just a turd no matter how you cut it and should be deal with accordingly. I can assure you the PWA, FOM, etc. will not protect you from incidents that make their way to the CEO’s desk. The only ‘help’ this guy needs is at least a public shaming with a side of Will Smith and at worst to be fired immediately for cause. Something something about ATPs needing to be of good moral character?

You would not believe some of the stuff pilots have done and kept their jobs. He will not have a fun time the next few months but I bet he stays.
