Ya, I was asked about LCA and one said he figures he just makes 7ERA pay. I was not really interested in it, but the pay on block only is a real downer for the 717. Just another reason not getting banded was a screw job for the 717. Then again, if youre in it for the cash only, it's probably not a good fit. That said, many would take a pay hit to do lca duties, especially in the 717.

Ok I missed the override change but the key point of my post is still true that it is earned on block not total trip credit.

still a bit more complex than that. depends on how it’s scheduled. it’s not quite like it used to be

How is it then? The way it was explained to me by a LCA was LCA pay only on block flown. Then if you pick up a line check on an off day, then the override is applied for the entire day.

Plus that 15% override is only on the block. .
How about 30% at 350 pay?

I don’t know why in the world we negotiate for LCAs. They are mgmt pilots. If the company doesn’t compensate them properly, it’s their problem.

Same for SLIs. Why do we have an instructor council on the MEC?

Well there’s a hot take…

Can’t agree with you here. On any point.

I did, but tennis post above is basically how I read it and oofff mentioned that it's a bit more complex than that. Just wondering what I'm missing. I didn't go to law school, so sometimes I don't interpret the pwa correctly.

I got a line check from a LCA once and he was showing me his trip.. It was basically a 4 day of deadheading around and conducting line checks. He only got paid LCA pay for the actual line checks, had to spend the rest of the trip deadheading around in a middle seat for straight pay (this was before contract 2019). Has this been fixed?
