I bet pilots do more plane changes than FA's because the company uses pilot shuffles to drive our credit lower yet still move metal because the FA's are already onboard (and quite often brought the plane in compared to pilots from what I've seen) because the company's view is that FA's have to already be there to board while pilots can walk down a crowded jetway, hit some switches and get'r dunn.

Plane changes should pay WAY more than boarding.

Having been an FA before becoming a pilot, I can definitely confirm that swapping planes as pilot is more work. The perception problem comes from the fact that we spend a lot of our time "sitting comfortably" in the flight deck while setting things up and getting ready.

He said the goal was to get every pilot to work 1-2 more days per month, which ABSOLUTELY happened. Multiply that by a year. Yup almost a month more work for the same credit. You know that and are just being disengenuois.

easy 5 day trips worth 29-31 hours.

there is NO WAY ADG is better. NONE. Selling anything other that that convinces me what side you’re on.

take it easy. If you read My post I was advocating for a min day, just pointing out the pitfalls of a 5:15 min day vs a 4 Because of how the optimizer works.

iirc the min day at NWA was 4:15 (4.25) which kinda makes my point. A 4ish hour MDG coupled with a 5:15 (or preferably 5:30) ADG would be a solid mix.

also pre BK NWA and DL did not have access to the current optimizer which will squeeze every drop of credit it can from us.

Good grief, DALFA has always been a good read and somewhat insightful. Measuring johnsons relative to pay is silly. As was mentioned, FA's may "ride" in the back...I sure hope that was dry humor btw...but at a passenger airline, we don't have passengers without the flight attendants in the back. So without them, we got nothing! So if you have a low perspective on FA's, might I suggest, friendly, that you go work for FedEx or UPS.

So we were talking about compensation recovery since bankruptcy… I don’t check in for a few hours and now we are shutting down discussions on the United AIP TA thread. That went sideways quickly. This place has the most dramatic drifts.

Can we we just negotiate a snap up to their snap up? Snap up X infinity plus 1 to seal the deal.

WHY should 3 day trips be a minimum of 18 hours? Aren't we already complaining about non commutable trips and too many short layovers? That would be even worse with a six hour min day.

Too many guys think we can just wave a magic wand, tap the hat and say "six hour min day" and nothing else changes. The bid packages remain unchanged or even improved, and we get paid more for the same work.

I'd love to see that but that's not realistic. Same ADG but with a slightly lower min day paired together would be a good start to see how it all might work.
