I am aware of what national does, but is it really worth the 10s of millions we lose to them every year??? Does our union work for us, or national. I personally would enjoy a union focused entirely on us. With a spine to actually call out the leadership. Although I will admit the BOD letter was a good start. I would like to see a wholesale re-write of the by laws and administration of DALPA. Something akin to disincentivising life long representatives vies a vie how our congress has become a static echo chamber of career politicians.
Mike Hamilton should resign without delay. Trying to sell this on the same old worn out fear tactics won't fly this time.

I am sure most of them work very hard but for some reason with a few exceptions, once they start DALPA work they never ever want to return to the line - why is that? It seems to me that some guys get addicted to the FPL. Where am I going wrong?

I had a scheduling rep tell me a few years ago, that if he took one phone call about ALPA work he could drop a trip with pay. Then talk on the phone 5 minutes and greenslip afterwards I 'm not sure if that is still standard operating practice, but it could explain why guys never want to return to the line.

In that case they would never fly a trip. Both guys I knew took at least 2 dozen calls a day.

Yeah. This doesn't at all seem to be accurate. Further, I know many of the scheduling guys that fly regular lines.

In which direction?

IMO a "pro-labor" board might, after 3-5 years, let a regional or ULCC strike. In any case, UAL's inflationary pay cut will not be offset by more same party board members. There's no gears turning for that IMO.

It was accurate a few years ago, but like I said, I'm not sure it is today.

In my experience the regionals have better ALPA support than Delta. I haven’t been impressed.
