I have hope United will beat us by 5 percent due to their covid LOA.

No, of course not. But that doesn’t mean it’s not righteously frustrating to have them only exactly match our rate (and the rest of our gains), and not raise the bar just a little. Their AIP looks amazingly like ours in many ways.

UA’s VEOP-era staffing furlough-avoidance deal included an auto 5% raise when profitability returned (2 quarters?), in exchange for the 1/3 pay cut structure of that deal.

Many are expecting UA Mgmt to try to incorporate that raise into their AIP, effectively negating it. However, most pilots are expecting to get that 5% on top of the match to Delta (and now AA) rates.

TBD if UA pilots stand stronger than AA did.

Didnt you try to say you expected the rates to exceed Delta? And when they don’t you try to throw in international override as pay? Just admit your union was weak in going for the exact Delta rates. Your groups owes DALPA dues now.

Your union or company can’t and haven’t even called this an industry leading contract. Because it’s not. It falls short of even matching what it’s trying to mimic.

Plus, it’s the same as Delta’s international pay. So it doesn’t count or put AA ahead.

Edited to add: Before you add your next AAdvantage, Delta gets per diem too. 2.85/3.35 indexed to government M&I E.

That’s why the “snap up” is stupid. Now both AA and maybe UA (If Scotty boy stops being cheap) will match our pay rates and add in some pay override so their respective pilot recruitment can claim higher wages.

Smart tactical move by APA because it’s something their management would be willing to agree to.

honest question, did APA really do anything??
The first offer they got was from management, and it was voted down. Then their CEO said he will match us. So what did they do besides verify language?

I could care less what APA did or didn’t do, I’m just telling you the “Snap up” is worthless.

In case you didn’t know, there is more to a contract than just pay rates.
