The fact that WARNs went back to December of 2016 is either a coincidence or more likely optics I guess but he was never under threat of furlough no matter the date.
pretty sure the date was set based off the furlough protections from the date in the last contract. They would have had to park 76 seat RJs if they went any deeper in the seniority list.

Not excusing anything he did. Seriously not my point at all.

I read his letter and it says good things, so I’ll give him a (second) chance. ‘Lawd knows I’ve had plenty of them.

But talk is talk, let’s see how he walks.

They could have gone 10 pilots deeper.

I watched the airline transform under RA.

Nor did very high profile, nurtured over decades talent depart under RA.

RA didn’t furlough when the merger with NWA took place in 2008 and hiring stopped instantly and for years…would’ve been completely reasonable as “synergies” were realized (and morale tanked).

No 3 WARN Act furlough notices recipients back then.

(Checks still clear though. Outside my wheelhouse. Enjoyed meeting and respected the heck out of Mr. Anderson, however).
Thanks for the PSA, your post really needs to be pinned.

Honestly, the only person you need to convince here is Trip7…most of use are of the opinion that Gumm is going to be a detriment to the pilot group.

What is amazing to me is the fact that the Atlanta FSDO(FAA) is so in bed with Delta. We have feds that sit in on the Fatigue Risk Management sessions and they are so blinded that they don’t call bull@$&” on the exponential increase in fatigue calls. Absolute clowns. Why are they even sitting in on the meetings, they are basically inept. Hence their involvement and the result of those meetings.

Delta was losing an engine a week for the better part of 2018 on the MadDog fleet. On a fleet of 150ish planes. They also said that was acceptable. Apparently shutting an engine down isn't considered a failure...

No need to convince. I just have a different opinion on how the future may unfold and we'll just have to see how it plays out.

What is your opinion? So I can save it for later. (Full disclosure)
