The Gumm Strikes Back
#23
I liked Trip’s posts on here. Sure, they were overly optimistic and rosy, but they were a nice change of pace. After this post, he is compromised in my mind. I no longer trust anything he writes.

Lack of Candor? Have you ever met him? He's a nice and humble person. Endeavor pilots seem to like him when he was in charge there. The only complaints pilots have are the "optimizer" which had way more to do with the retirement of the 88 combined with the collapse of DCI, and him flying as a 767A
RG is toxic to the pilot group. It’s not up for debate. His narcissism is always on full display.
The optimizer (“I can find efficiencies!”)
Running a “little hot” (“Oops!”)
“What’s an SIL?” (Chuckling and joking about it as guys are holding furlough letters)
The D Day flight
I’d argue he is trusted less by the collective pilot group than JL or Eddie B. Which is likely why he was promoted to that job.
KIO with the whole “this is good for the pilot group” BS. You know it’s not.

Well, the pilot showing support for Gumm is also the pilot that was in support of firing/terminating any Delta pilot who didn't want to get a Covid shot. No leave of absence without pay.....flat out termination. That mindset was suspect at the time and has not aged well IMHO.
