What management thinks of us

Most of my generation learned more about bad and hostile management who dragged negotiations on for upwards of a decade at our regionals. And my generation dealt with it and the repercussions of having to fight management while making 10% of what you made. Forgive us if we don't need your patronizing attitude.

Hats off + a new lanyard is the best first step.
1. It’s legal and RLA-compliant.
2. It has no adverse effect on our customers. They don’t care as long as we fly from point A to point B safely and on time.
3. It gets under management’s skin (see PB’s emotional tantrum over hats during an upgrade class visit last year).
4. There is absolutely nothing that management can do about it when adopted by >90% of the pilot group.

With ear pods and being constantly distracted by watches they are not going to learn anything from older generations.
which simply means they’ll fall on their faces 10 times harder than we did when we were kids.
sad to see, but technology really kills the buzz.
when they fly through hail they blame the training department, when the lock the brakes they blame their shoes.
it’s cute and I hope it protects their licenses.

The lack of an omelette station limits my willingness to serve.

Was that the decade when we got furloughed after 9/11 while the regionals hired and flew our routes, then slapped us in the face by telling us we had to resign our mainline seniority number to work there?
Yes, how patronizing of us to ask for a job to put food on the table whilst furloughed and the regionals grew, and not want to give up our Delta seniority number. Bet you fought pretty hard for us. Oh wait...
Then you threw us under the bus again by laughing in our faces as DALPA crumbled the 4th pillar and gleefully voting yes to get yours while we got left behind.

Tell you what. I'll "chill the F out bruh" (love all the "look how cool I am" lingo you kids use) when they do something that actually moves the needle, Not publish another Disunity Statement or an asinine video from someone who hasn't flown the line in years and was told to look angry and tough in the uniform he only wears for public appearances.
When you fly with someone who talks like this, stifle your laughter, and ask about their involvement in the union. Half the time it’s someone who has never volunteered or represented anyone in ALPA and just hate unions, but also ironically lose their minds that their union didn’t get them more (see recent post about abandoning them with the 4th pillar).
The other half of the time they will eventually share that they and their friends were voted out by some shady back room politics(not saying that DALPA politics aren’t petty and stupid because they shockingly are). These pilots will provide some insight into the personalities of the reps and MEC officers but you have to filter through the obvious bias.
