An HK can only be bumped from a flight if the flight is oversold, all passengers have checked in, and an insufficient number of passengers volunteer for denied boarding compensation (a highly unusual scenario). Positive space commuting has absolutely no effect on them.

Once a Delta pilot retires , He/She goes behind 80,000 current active Delta employees and their families along with competing for seats with multiple thousands of other Delta retirees and some Delta retirees that get a certain amount of S3A passes. Active Endeavor employees are Wholly Owned , flying Delta owned RJ's , Delta passengers and getting payed by Delta . There are a fraction of Active Endeavor Folks that you are competing with for seats ( 5,000 Endeavor employees at most ) compared to probably 500,000 total Active Delta employees with their families and other Delta retirees that have retired in the last 30 years . 80,000 Delta employees with their kids , spouses, parents etc. all go in front of you. Your chances of not getting on a flight cause of a 9E employee are pretty slim .

Food for thought on changes to the passrider system.
Allow employees to select buddy passes + current allotment of who is allowed (children, parents, etc.) Current benefits, no change.
Or.
Allow employee to select one additional passrider (2 total) in lieu of buddy pass/parents/children. Most folks I know rarely have their parents use their benefits or are now deceased. Could we have more allotment once parents pass? Additionally, there are thousands of employees at DL who do not/cannot have children or have close relationships with someone not defined in their vertical family tree (Aunt, Uncle, Sister/Brother, best friend, etc.) Should those employees be denied having more than one passrider becuase they don't have kids? The current system feels antiquated and not reflective of how many folks describe their chosen family. Family is more than just your parents and off-spring. Allowing employees more choices in selecting their passriders feels like a long overdue change

I have no interest in my ALPA reps wasting any negotiating time or effort on pass travel for Delta’s 100k employees, but I’m just one pilot.

Did your parents ever mention that life isn’t fair? Not everyone gets the memo, so I don’t want to make assumptions. But if this is a battle you want to fight, go for it. Along the way, maybe you could work on the tax code, public school funding, military service, government benefits, FMLA, nepotism laws, the ADA et al.

You’ve got Delta management written all over you. “That’s the way we’ve always done it.” Biggest pain at this company. Let me guess, you like the double breasted jacket and can’t imagine some one else wanting the single breasted jacket.

I don't want my reps wasting thier limited time/energy/budget trying to make pass travel "fair" for our work group plus the 85,000 other employees the company would feel obligated to include. It's not possible - not because it's not how we have always done it, but beause precedence is real and changing the policy mid-stream is complicated. Some families have eight kids. Some have none. Some families have three Delta employees but get the same benefits as a family with one. Some employees haven't had living parents for decades, others have had four for decades. Some employees had kids who died and now have grandkids. Personally, I think adding tens or hundreds of thousands of additional eligible pass riders into the mix is a bad idea. That why I, you know, shared my opnion about what I do and don't want my reps to advocate for.
Any chance you have an opinion on the subject at hand? Care to add anything meaningful to the conversation? I thought that's what food for thought was. If the poster wants "food for supporting my opnion" he or she can just ask for that. If you don't like reading contrarian views, the internet is an odd place to spend your free time. You might be better served by gooning more instead.
