My family and I deserve the seats over someone junior or iaw established procedures. We are all adults here, we knew the rules before we jumped onto the field. We have a solid commuter clause. Sorry, not sorry.

I don’t think overqualified is looking for parity on delta metal, but explaining that it happens both here and at endeavor or wherever they fly.

It reads to me that he thinks he should be entitled to go ahead of S2 and S3 Delta employees on DL metal with an S1B when he’s commuting.

you could be right. Either way, it’s stupid. Employees are employees. We already get a jumpseat advantage. My commute isn’t more important than a gate agent’s vacation

And my vacation is more important than an Endeavor's commute!

What if you are flying the next flight the gate agent is trying to get on for vacation? With you not making it to work the flight cancels. Now 180 people aren’t making it to their destination today. There are absolutely situations where your commute is more important than someone’s non-rev vacation.

No it doesn't. They either reroute someone, use a short call, or positive space you on that flight anyway (I'm a commuter and would love positive space commuting back). We're not irreplaceable though 😂

is this as ridiculous a rant as it seems? We have commuter clauses. For you to be in this situation you will have had to not adhere to the rules you agree to as an adult at this company. You would be positive spaced by scheduling no? What exactly are you trying to say here?

Unless your backup flight(s) are all OAL, which is a common situation in some commuter cities.

You can fully comply with the rules (namely, the PWA commuter clause in 23.X) and still end up in this situation.

Neither the PWA nor the FOM policy are actually rules anyway. They simply describe a certain benefit that you can receive if you meet certain conditions. In the case of the PWA, the benefit is insurance against discipline if the commute falls through (even though your working flight may still end up delayed or canceled). In the case of the FOM policy, it’s positive space on your backup. If you don’t meet the criteria for either policy but still manage to make it to work on time, you haven’t broken any rule. Similarly, you can meet the criteria for only one policy but not the other, receiving only the one eligible benefit.

Will scheduling positive space you on your last flight if you adhered to policy? Or do they let you get bumped by a family traveling on vacation? Genuine question. If so then i am wrong and apologize
