Nobody on this thread has mentioned any type of job action. No hats, in particular, was already vetted by ALPA legal in 2022. It is not a violation of the RLA.

When you get a second can you post where ALPA legal said they/we can unilaterally change the FOM? I must have missed that memo.

It’s all moo to me anyway, I haven’t worn or carried my hat since 2016. Still haven’t brought management to their knees.

it’s weird how the person you quoted said “not a violation of the rla” and you somehow took that as a discussion of the fom

That’s not even remotely what I said. An FOM violation doesn’t equal an RLA violation.

Under hats off, we were providing the exact same level of service to the customer. From a legal perspective, it’s brilliant. It’s no different than wearing a neon-colored lanyard with a union message on it (also an FOM violation, but not RLA).

Similarly, we could distribute ALPA-issued trading cards instead of company cards.

From MEC news July 2, 2025:

"We anticipate there being a complete audit of the affected reroute pay and we do not anticipate sending over individual Claims to resolve this issue. No individual pilot action is required."

With most places letting the pax deplane at 2L, I can’t remember the last time I even saw a pax on the plane let along give them a card.

I give away almost none. I carry few. I'm not making a special trip to the CPO during bankers hours to get them.

The only ones who get them are kids that come up front for a tour, or come up and ask nicely in the terminal.

A 40 year old demanding cards? Got none.
A teen just coming up and going "cards" no.
