Unironically, yes.
Regret never being able to sit left seat in that thing.

I don't see how "properly staffing" CS is going to fix anything. If an auto-accept adds 12 minutes to the coverage process, having more schedulers stare at the clock isn't going to get trips covered faster. CS isn't the choke point.

But yeah to your point if you have a huge category and 40 people per open trip are doing it they are not going to ever be able to assign a res a trip. It’ll just sit there getting rejected over and over before they toss it out as an IA? Right?

Is there a reason the OOBWS thing is so hot right now? Did people just hear about it through the grapevine, and instead of 0-2 people doing it per category it’s now like 30-40?

My gut tells me this was a reaction to batch sizes going away. Maybe we could get them back in return for no auto-accept?

Slogging through this thread (I'm not senior enough to join the party via paycheck. Plus: lazy.)
"Show me a company with a 200 page contract, and I'll show you a company that's going to get screwed by someone who actually read all 200 pages" - C Munger.
"The law prohibits many things, but contracts are made to be broken by those clever enough to find the door left ajar." - J. Giradot
"A contract is just a starting point for future litigation." - proverbial.
"If a man signs a contract without reading it, he may find himself bound by clauses he never dreamed existed. The courts will not save him from his own carelessness--NOR SHOULD THEY" - Denning.
------
Personal opinion? (no one cares): At the end of the day, we all have to work together. Senior pilots exploiting loopholes now won't suffer much when they're closed in the next contract/bankruptcy.
But the junior pilots sure will. "Brotherhood" is mostly marketing.
Not especially interested in working with a management team that actively hates pilots. That seems to be the vibe we're working towards though. All so we can protect the top 5% in category or so to exploit loopholes for profit and for "leverage."
TLDR: Long term contracts are for mutual advantage, not short term gain. This is a multiple decade career for most.
Interesting to watch from the sidelines.
Fact is, a constant adversarial relationship might be the best for pilots.

CS has several ways to solve that:
1) Give out VAS. Especially with forecast IROP weather.
2) Give out more SC 7+ to those who request it, especially with forecast IROP weather.
3) Assign GS two days out, instead of breaking them up and using up 3 RES pilots with double DH to cover a multi day trip.
4) Give out more SS weeks in advance when you see thin reserve manning
5) Give out more PBS premium rotations a month in advance when you see thin manning
6) Offer premium reserve days in advance when you see thin manning
7) Run automated coverage faster so at least **some** of those trips can be properly covered 12 hours out instead of sitting unattended and being pushed into emergency coverage.
8) Hire more (pilots and schedulers).
Should I go on? Auto accept is not the problem.
